Every time I post on a thread like this I see that some folks don’t think there is a right to breed dogs (or cats), which surprises me on a conservative website. At any rate, most I know involved in showing dogs have been paying attention, and I suspect Obama will come out on the side of HSUS.
Hunting Dog Ping!
But that is just the way it is. It happens when individual rights are taken away and group rights are placed just as happened in Nazi Germany, the USSR and many other left wing countries.
The breeders in this country that need regulating ARE NOT the ones who breed animals.
FOAD.
There is a syndrome that afflicts many people who join organizations. I try not to go too far over that line, realizing I’m a member of one here.
The sad fact is though, that people who join orgs like the humane society, or green organizations, they often lose perspective and go spiraling out of control.
Look, I like animals and the planet, but for heaven’s sake, keep it in perspective. Try to keep it to reasoned goals, not some so narrowly focused premise that when you present it to others you sound like a stark raving lunatic.
This goal of the Humane Society sounds like the goal of a fruitcake.
Back off you lunatics.
The government is big enough already. It doesn’t need to reach into my home and regulate me with regard to my pets. This is sheer lunacy!
LOL! Well said MissEdie! :)
There are a number of liberals who post here. Those against animal breeding are not conservatives. Animal breeding is a property rights issue and property rights is a core issue for conservatism.
This is just what the US needs:
“Dog Sex” police! /s
I know there are others I should ping and am overlooking.
Could you all hit your ping lists?
As I’ve said on here many times, the HSUS doesn’t feed, house, neuter or spay any animals with the (last time I checked) $150 million annually they raise. And they don’t provide any money for local shelters.
Check out the HSUS demands. They endorsed Obama and campaigned heavily for him. This is where your money goes if you donate to the HSUS freepers (not those I pinged, I know they don’t).
The letter came from the commander of the unit that our AKC Kennel Club sent K9 supplies to. This is from the Battalion level, not the guys on the ground...its their boss’s boss.
If it weren’t for dog shows and kennel clubs we wouldn’t have had this money to send to our K9 Troops.

Soldiers thankful for kennel club support
Published: Monday, January 26, 2009
To the editor:
I wanted to extend my greatest appreciation for the Souhegan Kennel Clubs efforts to support our specialty search dogs here in Iraq.
Your donations to support the canines on ground here have had a profound impact on their morale and quality of life. Often this element of the military has specific needs that can be easily overlooked.
Because of your efforts, the soldiers responsible for these animals have been able to provide them regular checks between missions. These needs may seem minute to an organization of your caliber, but your support has been critical to ensuring the happiness and good health of our animals. The collapsible bowls, toys and grooming supplies provided were met with great anticipation and excitement by both our canines and their handlers.
These animals provide a vital mission and often are responsible for saving the lives of many American sons and daughters. Your organization has improved the quality of life for our animals. I appreciate your efforts and thank you for all that you do. Without organizations such as yours contributing to our efforts here in Iraq, our military would certainly have faced a more difficult time.

The vet I used to work for used to call the rabid animal rights folks humaniacs. I’ve never come up with a better moniker!
I agree with you.
Yes, that is a pretty good one.
Yes, ‘the privacy of our own homes’ and all... I guess these sayings are only good as the effort they are spouted to support, in the minds of a leftist.
I heartily agree with your property rights premise.
One problem is that, for years, the dog show community has spoken of their dogs as if they were people, so I think the natural progression (by those who are inclined to do away with pets entirely) is to take up that lexicon (for instance, calling your dogs your fur kids) and use it against them. I love my dogs, but if I thought of them the same way I did my kids, how could I ever breed them?
They will pry my sweet babies out of my cold, dead hands. I think I’d die if I lost them. 18 years of my life with my first dog and when he died, I thought I’d buried my heart with him. They’ll never get my latest rescue dog away from me, or my Stray Rescue Boxer, either. Our dogs are family and loved so deeply. I wait all day to just be with them and they with me. Hubby is retired and absolutely adores them. HSUS can go pound sand.
I agree. I also think the move is to grant animals human rights level status, and that is just crazy.
