It was supposed to be fifty years and then I recall as a kid in the 1980's hearing the files had been sealed for 100. And, yes, there are classified documents on the assassination.

For those with an interest in the assassination, Dealey Plaza is worth visiting. I was a semi-believer in a conspiracy until I went to the plaza a few years back.

Some observations:

1) Not apparent from the endless documentary films about the Nov. '63 events is that the plaza is SMALL. I stood on the wall where Zapruder stood. The distance from there to the bush/fence on the grassy knoll (where "badge man" can be seen in the photos) is approximately 20-25 feet. From years of seeing documentaries on TV, I thought Zapruder was 30-40 yards from the grassy knoll. I was astonished at just how close the fence on the knoll is to where Zapruder was standing. Now, if I'm Zapruder and I'm filming, when suddenly a high-powered rifle goes off 25 feet to my immediate right, I would surely be startled and bobble the camera. I'd also look to my right, not calmly keep filming a motorcade.

2) I also stood behind the current stockade fence on the grassy knoll. Assuming that back in '63, it was the default 5' or 6' height for a fence of that type, you would have to be 6"5 or so to shoot over it. I'm 6'2" and could see over it, but would not be able to depress a rifle barrel enough to shoot downhill to the road below. I guess the second shooter had a milk crate to stand on??

3) If you stand at the fence and look to your rear, the railroad yard control tower is in plain view about 50 yards away across an open lot. Nowhere to hide.

4)Elm Street has a pretty steep downhill pitch as it runs down to where Kennedy was shot. From the book depository window, a target travelling away AND downhill from the shooter is easier to hit than one travelling away on a flat surface, as the distal movement of the target is more gradual. Try it yourself by sticking your thumb up infront of your face and moving it straight away by extending your arm. Next do the same thing while moving your thumb away from your face, this time at a downward angle. The distance from your eye to your thumb increases at a slower rate (making for an easier shot) when your thumb is moved away with a downward angle 5) I also stood in the window in the Sixth Floor Museum that is about 8 feet from Oswald's perch (Oswald's window is behind a plexiglas barrier). Looking out at the cars going by on Elm St, it's really a pretty easy shot. Having a vertical height advantage on the target and having the target moving downhill to boot, makes it not too hard to do.

In conclusion, I think Oswald did it. The bullet ballistics consipricies seem to be all based on the asumption that bullets travel in a striaght line. They do, until they hit something. Once inside a body, they can caroom about and come out at weird angles and with a trajectory entirely different than their original one. Oswald was having a really accurate day of shooting that day, just like some golfers have exceptionally good games on occasion.

It will be on the History Channel again before long. Lets watch it again.

Not everything on the History Channel comes from a burning bush. I'm going to watch Monster Quest tonght to see if the Loch Ness Monster is really dead. That doesn't mean I'm conviced it exists.

Reading Jim Tague’s book convinced me that there was more than one gunman.

James Tague is a survivor and witness of the assassination. He received a minor wound when a bullet fragment brushed his face near the south end of the triple underpass.

Remember, the Warren Report said the first shot missed, but Tague claims with certainty that it was not the one that struck him. Factor that with all of the wounds that Connelly had.

There were atleast 2 shooters.

Wow!

And here I thought I Had It All Figured Out!

Good thing you used 14 (2x7 = a Perfect Number) exclamation points!

That's how I know you got it right ... Had you used 13 exclamation points you'd have revealed yourself as a Stooge of the Oligarchy!!!!!!!

By the way, did you ever hear the remarkable coincidences between the Kennedy assassination and the Lincoln assassination? Mindboggling.... Fascinating... Eerie........

OK, the main ones are these:

(1) After Kennedy was shot, he ran to a theater... Lincoln ran to a Book Depository!

[OK, but here’s where it gets weird! The movie being shown when Kennedy got to the theater (mortally wounded I might add) was “The Gettysburg Address”! And when Washington delivered that speech heard round the world... there were no movie theaters in DC!!! Just amazing...]

(2) When JFK was hit (remember, he was nailed at least 17 times), Mrs. Kennedy was wearing a pink pillbox hat, which deflected several bullets... and Mrs. Lincoln shot John Wilkes Booth from a PILLBOX!

(3) Mr. Kennedy’s assistant was Mrs. Lincoln... and Mr. Lincoln’s assistant was.... Mr. Rogers!!! As we all know, he later went on to host his own children’s show—and was himself assassinated by a gun-toting dinosaur named: Barney... Harvey... Oswald!!! (Spooky!)

(4) When Jodi Foster was shot by Mark David Chapman, the pope (who has been known to run butt-naked through the woods, chasing defecating bears and felling trees when no one is around to hear or see it) instituted an order that henceforth he would ride in glass-encased pope-mobiles to events while in Texas or near the Dakota in New York!

Full circle...

There you have it. Just weird, huh?!?

;>)

Look, JFK is one of the most overrated people in U.S. history, but the assassination was most certainly a bad thing for America. Kennedy didn’t really push a far-left legislative agenda (remember the tax cuts), and whenever he tried to, he was completely ineffective at getting anything accomplished. LBJ was an evil genius at handling Congress, and the JFK sympathy vote and Goldwater’s incompetence gave him a rubber-stamp Congress and a blank check for full-bore socialism. JFK may not have have been about to pull his advisors out of Vietnam as Oliver Stone would have you believe, but he could hardly have screwed things up worse than LBJ. On the home front, the riots, the drug culture, the crime, the moral collapse, and the all-around degradation of American culture and society from the mid-60’s on may well have happened if JFK had lived, but it’s hard to imagine that it would have been worse had he lived. In fact, because he likely would not have been able to massively grow the federal government as LBJ did, I expect things would indeed have been better.

Bullets from different directions? Please. The act has been recreated EXACTLY more than once with disturbingly accurate results. Oswald had a good day.

Agreed. I have played that stupid game many times with my rifles since I was kid. I can pretend that I acquired, breathed, focused, fired... the muzzle travels up and left/right and little bounce. Repeat process two more times in 8 seconds. I can on a fixed target where the point of reference does not change and the sighting is level. It can still be at an angle but the target would still need to stationary to reacquire.

Now, a target that is in a vehicle moving at 30 miles per hour, on a road that has dips in it, and the angle of acquisition is some 50 degrees down(so I would have to aim high to compensate) and the target is moving around in said vehicle and then the first shot would have to be within my field of range as the Presidential Limo comes around the corner so I could lead the target then blam! Maybe but the 2nd and 3rd shot? I have to recover muzzle back to target that has moved from where it was. Hopefully, there would zero wind that help too. Tall building usually have vortices's beginning at the 3rd story so I would have to compensate for that as well.

Then again I am not a Marine.

Obama’s mother did it, because JFK knew that little Barrack was really born in Kenya.

And the oddest coincidence between Lincoln and Kennedy:

One year to the day before he was shot, Lincoln was in Monroe, Maryland. One year to the day before he was shot, Kennedy was in Marilyn . . . oh, never mind.

Others herein believe that big things cannot happen without us finding out; right. Really big money, try trillions of foreign dollars can muddy our current reality; more like is...

Let me see, President Kennedy was the last US president to issue US currency (notes); some 2B of them. Two months later he was dead.

The Federal Reserve is neither Federal nor a reserve. Yet it's creation and secret power is hidden from all but one in a million. It has never been audited although Congress has tried. This is the biggest fraud in world history and most haven't a clue...

Really? Several gunman have recreated it to the last detail. I own a Manliccher and can easily pop off three on target. As far as the “direction of the shot” c%ap. I have killed about everything that moves in North America and bullets and critters do some strange things from time to time..

If there was a conspiracy it would involve hundreds or even thousands of people at all levels of government working in consort.

By definition, a conspiracy would need to involve a minimum of two people. I do believe that more than two people were involved in the planning that led up to the killing of JFK, but I don't believe this conspiracy involved hundreds or even thousands of people.

Give me five old Carcanos similar to Oswalds and I’ll get five-inch groups out of at least four of them at double the distance of Oswald’s longest shot. And I’ll use an off-brand scope just like Oswald. I would bet I’ll get a two-inch group with at least one.

Of course gun expert Oliver Stone sez the Carcano was designed not to kill people.
