Whereas, a number of proposals from previous administrations and some now pending from the present administration and from Congress may further violate the Constitution of the United States.

Therefore Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of Arizona, the Senate concurring, that: 1. That the State of Arizona hereby claims sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States over all powers not otherwise enumerated and granted to the federal government by the Constitution of the United States. 2. I believe NH has already done this.

Feels to me like the fractures are starting and these could presage a second civil war. Maybe it won't come to that -- but in 1860, a month after Lincoln was elected, South Carolina made a declaration of sovereignty, and before long it turned into a fight.

I’d love it if many more states did this. The time is coming when we’ll be looking to our states as a line of defense against the Washington D.C.

If I read correctly it is only a resolution, which is basically meaningless.

I’m curious as to the makeup of the AZ legislature and if there’s a snowballs chance in a blast furnace of this actually making it to the floor for a vote.

yeah, I thought that might be the case. But at least it reflects, at the level of a legislative body, the desire of many in America for their States to reclaim the sovereignty that is theirs. It’s a start. And with how fast Obama has been “progressing” who knows where a sentiment like this will lead. Here’s to Hope and Change!

I have said a number of times, I find it very troubling how the MSM and Hussein played this Lincoln thing up. Lincoln trampled the Constitution. If you did not agree with his decision to invade the southern states, you were imprisoned, if you were a newspaper, it was shut down or destroyed. He ignored the Supreme Court when they told him something he disagreed with. He destroyed the intent of the original union.
