Sorry, FM, but I’ll take AC, RL, Joe and me over your opinion on this one. You have offered nothing but vitriol and ad hominem attacks when you were given the chance to provide evidence.

I didn’t hate Fred; I liked him. At any rate, Ann is as staunch a conservative as they come...if Mitt were as bad as you say then someone like Ann would’ve seen through it. Rush himself did say Mitt was the real conservative in the race. And Joe, the man who believes in stopping the illegals, had it right, too.

At any rate, I won’t try and figure out your motivations. I’m certain you’re certain about your convictions and I respect you. I’ve seen you around on FR enough to know you’re a strong believer in conservatism! I do think you ought to not demonize the guy or those of us who like him. We aren’t the enemy.

Well...he might be in the White House now instead of the Zero we have if not for the biased Mormon haters!!!

The surest sign you have lost an argument is when you pull out the "Hater" card to label those you disagree with.

It is one of the best examples of sophmoric sophistry in an attempt to change the conversation when you cannot defend your position.

Proverbs 16:5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.

Apropos, huh?...

Yeah, that fits your Joe Smith and your Brigham Young and the rest of your leaders..

Do I really have to pull out Joe’s “I boast” speech ????

The one where he boasted he was “greater than Jesus” ????

Yup. Regan got screwed and he knew it, but he also knew he had to keep going despite it. The big picture was always his focus, and it worked. Sadly the idiots on both sides of the isle have squander his achievements.

In Tipp's defense, and I do so because he was old school and did act with honor as much as he could, and Reagan called him a friend after he left office, I think he was screwed too and given little choice. This was the era when the libs really had started to come to full power in congress and O'Neals was fading. The day of the reasonable Democrat was rapidly coming to an end at that time.

I’m not going to argue with that premise. I do know there were some pretty lame comments made about Mormons last year though. Unless there is some clear reason why it is going to directly effect policy, religion shouldn’t be a part of this. Now, when it comes to “the religion of peace” I would add a clause to my rule.

Nothing wrong with that when the conversion is for real, unlike Romney’s.

Most of the MittWitts did admit that they also had “evolved” in the last few months from pro-abortion...

and other liberal stances on the issues...

Nucons pushing a Nucon...

It was hard to explain to them that you dont decide to be “pro-life” at 60+ after 40 years of pushing abortions...

and other libewral causes...amnesty, gou control, same sex marriage, etc..

and then go to the head of the line and leadership over the Right to Life movement...

and the conservatives...

With all the creditials etc...

It just doesnt happen...

Obama won big amongst Hispanics. And secular Cathloics usually vote rat.

But white Catholics and Catholics who who go to church every week voted Republican. The latter are a cornerstone of the pro-life movement. My mother is Catholic, she and her church friends revile Obama and the Kennedy’s.

I am not sure firmly was the case on the auto bailout but that aside I got the auto bailout and the stimulus mixed up. He has been for a smaller stimulus that he thinks is necessary.

BUT, I found this gem in his speech about the economy which flies in the face of what some on here has been saying about the ROMNEY Health Care in MA — all done by the Legislature — not exactly:

We should be first to propose a Republican plan to bring health insurance to all Americans, one based on market dynamics, free choice, and personal responsibility. I think what we did in Massachusetts is a good model to start from, but whatever direction we take, let’s not simply react to what the Democrats do. Their own plan would undoubtedly create a vast new system of costly entitlements and bureaucratic dictates, burdening the people and threatening the economy. Americans will be looking for a better alternative. Let’s give it to them.

"Sorry, FM, but I’ll take AC, RL, Joe and me over your opinion on this one. You have offered nothing but vitriol and ad hominem attacks when you were given the chance to provide evidence."

You are entitled to whatever opinion you want, you are not entitled to your own set of facts. We have cited ad infinitum his record of Socialism, his record of lying, and various other sordid details. It is you that refuses to see the obvious. I've followed him for FIFTEEN years. How long have you followed him ? And why do you continue to deny the facts regarding this abomination ?

"I didn’t hate Fred; I liked him. At any rate, Ann is as staunch a conservative as they come..."

Fine. But Coulter hated and railed against him. She was mad for his vote on one of the articles of impeachment against Bubba. One vote. And she was willing to embrace a destructive, pathological liar and Socialist and force him down our throats. She became a caricature of the Bubba Clintoon kneepad supporters we made fun of in the '90s, only this time, her kneepads were brought out for Slick Willard. Shameful and hypocritical.

"if Mitt were as bad as you say then someone like Ann would’ve seen through it."

She didn't. She didn't want to see it. She lost all Conservative credibility with this support. She was living in Slick Willard Fantasy Land. So was that phony Sean Hannity, who had a tingle up his leg as bad as Chrissie Matthews for the False Messiah.

"Rush himself did say Mitt was the real conservative in the race."

Compared to what ? He wasn't a Conservative, he certainly isn't "real." Don't piss on my leg and tell me it's ambrosia perfume.

"And Joe, the man who believes in stopping the illegals, had it right, too."

Joe the grandstanding RINO phony who helped to push Butch Napolitano to the Governorship, where for 6 years her reign of error f'd up Arizona. It's going to take years to undo the damage she created. But, hey, just as long as they endorse Socialist liar Slick Willard, he can endorse any Democrat he wants. Well, looks like that's TWO Democrats Joe endorsed. But you got no prob with it. We got it.

"At any rate, I won’t try and figure out your motivations."

You guys really do live in an echo chamber. Same crap talking points that have been answered. Here's the answer again, so look right at the screen here. My motivation is electing ACTUAL Conservative Republicans to office. Ones that furthered the Conservative GOP agenda, elected Conservative Republicans to office, and basically stood opposed to Socialism. Pretty much everything Slick Willard FAILED to do (and Huckster, too, another incompetent and phony Governor who crippled the AR GOP). Yeah, so now you know my motivation. I can only surmise the motivation of a Slick Willard disciple who ignores the mountain of facts is somebody who wants the Democrat party in absolute control, wants the GOP dead, and wants the Socialist agenda advanced. Actually, I don't need to surmise it, because it's what you're doing every time you state the falsehood that Slick Willard is a Conservative. And you, sir, are not a Conservative.

"I do think you ought to not demonize the guy or those of us who like him. We aren’t the enemy."

You unapologetically advance that lying, Socialist, GOP-killing trash to the highest office within MY party, and you are the enemy.

Mitt’s chosen image: “Smart” “Economic Conservative” is very attractive to me. But you see it’s all a MYTH.

Yes, in reality he did have some early changes, not many and overall he has been conservative, even when he was a democrat, which at the time was not unusual, many of my conservative elders in my family were Democrats turned Republicans around the same time frame.

But Reagan never stood on two sides of the same issue, nor did he change much once he hit his political stride. Mitt had been well into his political and professional career and was still whippin’ in the wind. A person of real conviction settles down pretty quickly once exposed to all the issues at hand.
