It's been a year since Mitt Romney dropped out of the Republican presidential race, but he remains an influential conservative voice particularly on economic issues. The former Massachusetts governor and star business consultant earned ovations at a House Republican retreat in January and recently signed on to headline a major Senate GOP dinner in April. He spoke with TIME about Obama's Oval Office debut, what's wrong with the economic stimulus bill and what his own future may hold.

Why are you guys all responding to fieldmarshaldj?
smallbiz made the ignorant remark about Catholics, not fieldmarshaldj.
The only thing Slick Willard is firmly opposed to is telling the truth.
Wow. I see some of that is back. I stopped reading and supporting the Free Republic for a while because of all of the strong anti-mormon propoganda. Then, after Romney checked out, it got better for a while. But some of the comments here are typically bigoted. I am a Mormon and a strong conservative and will be for the rest of my life. However, it is clear that some “conservatives” will never accept me because of my religion. So sad. But I will not return the favor. I just ask that people stick to the point of the thread but maybe that is too much to ask for some.
“And if one has to bring up such issues on Regan in order to try and build up Mitt’s credibility. Well that speaks volumes right there.”
Reagan had liberal views. And pushed very hard for deficit spending and amnesty for illegal aliens. Both of which I supported. Not all of us are perfect conservatives.
It looks like a lot of FReepers are throwing truth out the window in their continuing anti-Mitt tirade. It’s totally unproductive, but quite useful to the real enemy, which now “governs” our nation.
Anyways, I am most excellent. Wife and kid doing great, business good.
Obama’s breakdown is entertaining if not disturbing, but I am seeing some positive signs of life and realization among the cattle...
We may hurt a bit but I think we may survive this thing after all.
Hey, troll, why don’t you answer my posts ? You trash Reagan, trash Catholics, trash Conservatives. Have you no shame ?
It looks like some people are so enraptured with an absolute FRAUD and LIAR that they refuse to wake up and see the facts and the record. That’s what is so shameful and unproductive. I for one am quite sick of it. But as long as you guys keep starting these Socialist worship threads, we’re gonna have to keep setting the record straight.
“smallbiz made the ignorant remark about Catholics, not fieldmarshaldj”
Oh please, I was responding to a post and fieldmarshaldj thought of it as a good opportunity to call me a bigot.
"I dont believe Catholics are Christians." -- smallbiz
You are a bigot and a troll.

I despise him more with each article that you post. Congratulations!

Proverbs 16:5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.
Apropos, huh?...
Amen!

The last termite on the field can always declare victory. I urged a poll at the time for “None of the Above” vs. Slick Willard. There’s no doubt which option would’ve won in a landslide.

I REALLY don’t think you want to get in a pissing contest debating the moral superiority of Slick Willard, because you will most assuredly lose, ace.
Seems like it always comes back to taking it in the rear to you. Thou doest protest too much, homey?!?
Yet Massachusetts was proud to vote for Reagan twice. Slick had no use for Reagan-Bush.
