New York Post ^

After pushing Congress for weeks to hurry up and pass the massive $787 billion stimulus bill, President Obama promptly took off for a three-day holiday getaway.

Obama arrived at his home in Chicago on Friday, and treated wife Michelle to a Valentine's Day dinner downtown last night. The couple was spotted leaving upscale Table Fifty-Two, which specializes in Southern cuisine, with the first lady toting what appeared to be a doggie bag. ...

Didn't he also take time off in the midst of the “crisis” to attend his daughter's second grade class?

Didn't they also take time off to go see an opera during the “crisis”?

At least they didn’t show us what Michelle O was wearing...

And props to her for not commanding the Secret Service to carry her doggie bag. Hillary would have. And there might have been a few pieces of silverware in the bag, too.

He pushed through 30 years of the Democrats agenda in one bill... he deserves a vacation.

It wouldn't have been possible without the terrible GOP leadership that preceded him, and made his election possible.

Obama is an elitist. He had a private chef in Chicago. He had this chef put on the White House staff. He cars nothing for the common man. He only hung out with radicals, socialist, and Muslims for most of his life. The Intellectual Redneck

Hey, he has to rest up for the Necklacing Tournament when the Truth and Reconciliation Commission is done with their work.

Good times ahead.

The president plans to spend the Presidents’ Day weekend in the Windy City, and is not expected to sign the bill until Tuesday, when he travels to Denver to discuss his economic plan.

Both the House and Senate passed the bill Friday night.

The push to get the bill through before the holiday weekend was so frantic, members of Congress didn’t have a chance to read all 1,071 pages of the document before they could vote.

The real reason it was RUSHED thru was because Queen Nancy had a 6pm Friday departure time on her (our) private jet for an eight day trip to Europe; going to see the Pope.

Can you imagine the "problems" that would have arose if she had to leave (taking some Dem's with her) and the bill had not been passed?

The comments after the article are a hoot. Some folks really unsheathe their sarcasm and get medieval on Zero.

I particularly liked this one:

"Hard times, crises, catastrophic economy, I'm calling on all of you to make sacrifices. However, as for me and mine, we're flying to Chicago, paid for by the taxpayers, having dinner at one of the most expensive restaurants there ($120 per person price fixe, plus appetizer and drinks) and then I plan to play some hoops. The crises will wait. The bill has passed. My main concern, I hope they have fresh arugula. One set of rules for me, one for thee. And to all of you who had dinner at home to save money, or have lost your jobs, or just can't afford to go out, Michelle and I will drink a toast to you. We understand. Things will get better for you, I promise, it'll just take alot longer than we thought. Dessert menu, please."

There’s something “haunting him” in that Whitehouse.

There have been rumors over the years about ghosts at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue...perhaps some former adherents to the Constitution are making their displeasure known to the big 0. Help often arrives from unexpected places...

Michelle cant cook.

She has even said they eat out alot.

Not that I disagree with your post but just adding if your wife is a terrible cook you either cook yourself or eat out as in their case they hired a chef.

She cant dress, cant cook, reminds Obama everyday of his short comings, is hulky like Janet Reno .....the one thing she has done was work and financially support the family while Obama ran around politicking.

And the photo ops remind me of Prnicess Diana who herself called the pappirazzi to get face time in the media.

Why didnt they just go out for a romantic dinner? Nope someone was put there to snap a picture of them getting in the car with his wife spooning him and holding the chow bag. (pre choreographed)

Which reminds me, have we figured out yet which church the lovely couple belong to in DC?

They're members in good standing of the Church of What's Happening Now.
