There’s no conspiracy around a guy wearing a red tie vs. a blue one.
Both colors look good on camera. Prints, stripes, green, and yellow don’t look good on camera. Regimental stripes have been out of fashion for a while.
The red tie was touted as the “power tie” back in the “Dress for Success” 70s/80s.
GWB consistently wore a “Carolina blue” tie. I like the man and think that like Truman’s, his reputation will be much higher than his current #36 ranking (11 places lower than JIMMY CARTER???? Seriously????) http://www.c-span.org/PresidentialSurvey/Overall-Ranking.aspx
But I also believe that GWB would have performed better and perhaps commanded more respect had his tie been Duke blue.
