We just came through a marathon presidential election and are in the midst of a massive economic meltdown. From debates and town halls to press conferences and congressional panels, we've all seen our share of neckties. But why is it they're almost always red or blue?
The most logical answer is that it's just plain American to sport our flag's colors. You look downright patriotic. And maybe there's another political message being spun Obama sporting a red tie could indicate a semi-subliminal message that he's wearing what he preaches: Bipartisanship.

Brilliant! I say, Brilliant!
A journalist who can determine presidential policy leanings through a critique of the man's clothing choices.
We need more of these kind of journalists! /sarcasm
-—Red is simply his true color—
There’s no conspiracy around a guy wearing a red tie vs. a blue one.
Both colors look good on camera. Prints, stripes, green, and yellow don’t look good on camera. Regimental stripes have been out of fashion for a while.
The red tie was touted as the “power tie” back in the “Dress for Success” 70s/80s.
I’ve noticed a lot of Democrat legislators and bureaucrats sporting light blue dress shirts over the last several years. It’s become something of a “statement” among liberals and “progressives”.
GWB consistently wore a “Carolina blue” tie. I like the man and think that like Truman’s, his reputation will be much higher than his current #36 ranking (11 places lower than JIMMY CARTER???? Seriously????) http://www.c-span.org/PresidentialSurvey/Overall-Ranking.aspx
But I also believe that GWB would have performed better and perhaps commanded more respect had his tie been Duke blue.
JMHO.
Oh how ignorant. I mean wasn’t red assigned to us after they figured out that making the democratic stats red might make us think “commie”? Sorry but red is the clor given to us by liberals so wearing red means nothing to us.
Today's TV cameras can compensate for white-shirt brightness but the baby-blue shirts have persisted, not-so-subtly reminding everyone that the wearer just came off the set, soon will be sitting on some pundit's studio sofa, or must be prepared at any instant to adorn the Glass Teat.
