Is it selfish to have more than two children?

By Margaret Ryan BBC News Is having more than two children selfish? The future of the planet rarely plays a part when planning a family, but that's got to change, say environmental campaigners.

Parents who have more than two children are "irresponsible" for placing an intolerable burden on resources and increasing damage to eco-systems, says a leading green campaigner.

Curbing population growth through contraception must play a role in fighting global warming, argues Jonathon Porritt.

This week, the Optimum Population Trust (OPT), of which Mr Porrit is a patron, launched its "Stop at Two" online pledge to encourage couples to limit their family's size.

No, but it’s the definition of selfishness to want to have the planet to yourself.

from the comments “I have three children. I feel it is my duty to attempt to repopulate the World with intelligent individuals in an attempt to offset Mr Porritt’s stupidity. Idiocy-offsetting, kind of like carbon offsetting, just a little more immediate. Kirstine Berry, Bracknell”

LOL now that is funny!

I love being a societal crisis. It’s so much more fulfilling than just doing laundry and selling Girl Scout cookies and drinking cheap wine.

Mr. Porrit, the useless eater, has been discussed here before, I think. Why he thinks he’s going to last when Britain is ruled by Shari’a is beyond me.

Not in and of itself. Apropos the lovely Miss Suleman, her problem is less that she’s selfish and more that she’s crazier than an outhouse mouse.

Is it selfish to have more than two children? [Greenie weenie nit wit alert.......]

Is it selfish to have less than two children? Are those parents of zero or one the spoiled yuppie types who want to save their income (or more likely their available credit) for European vacations with their only child or as childless perpetual teens?

I know my question is as dumb as theirs. Really, what's peculiar is that so many people want to make those decisions for others. I am proud of my children, all of them. I am almost as thrilled that some of the most pathetic liberals are opting out of the gene pool. I assume that people will make good decisions based on their needs and desires, and I would never, ever criticize the childbearing choices of someone who had a large family that they supported on their own.

They created an elaborate ceremony and put everyone to sleep, like unwanted pets, to save the declining young population the burden of care. It is covered in greater detail in the book than the movie.

We're now at the point of something-new-every-day serious anti-baby campaigning.

"World Threatened by Babies!"

"Babies are Killing Us!"

"Little Kids Are Destroying the Planet, Maybe the Whole Solar System!"

These anti-baby maniacs are hysterical. In fact, babies are an excellent way to stabilize markets and provide productivity for the future.

They ARE our future.

And they're mighty appealing and add pride and joy to your life.

They inspire love and goodness.

Teach them to plant trees and they'll be net water conservers and ecosystem enrichers. We need more of them who can grow up and apply advanced knowledsge available only to humans, to avert asteroid hits and other mass-extinction events.

Have more kids! Conservers of all species!

For God's Sake! For America's Sake! And for The Planet!

(Mrs. Don-o fans herself briskly.) WHOO! I'm getting blushy.

Gentlemen, start your engines.

Ladies, you know what to do. :o)

The same type of humanist lunatics insisted it was not selfish for the Sodomite Bath Houses to remain open for AIDs speading in the midst of the original San Francisco AIDs epidemic.

Their gods are dirt and the flesh of man.

Four is probably it because of my wife's "advanced maternal age" (not my term, the doctor's!) but today my daughter and I discussed possibly putting the following slogan on our family crest. It's the description Morbo the newsmonster offered when he was asked "how's the family?"

"Belligerent and Numerous."

Can someone tell this Greenie Weenie to get his hands of our reproductive choices?

The way to shut up a leftist is to publicly shame them for being envious. The motive for leftists telling people what cars, houses, TVs to buy, what to eat, and the maximum number of children to have, is always envy under the guise of something more socially acceptable.
