Good point Mr. Blonde but the fact is that as of now, it isn’t legal, and the supply chain is what it is. Using pot supports this activity. Seems to me that the moral choice is clear: using pot supports violent activity, including murder. One of the reasons I stopped using is because the violence got too close to me.
By this argument, in 1941 you would say that FDR had some good points in his “day of infamy” speech but the fact is that as of now the people killed at Pearl Harbor are dead and the ships sunk there are sunk, and that the moral choice is not to add to the violence.
But the violence surrounding the trade is an argument in favor of legalization. If it were illegal and no one used, that would be great, but it won’t happen. The destruction that the prohibition causes is far greater than any evil it is protecting people from.
