Your comment about the earmarks is spot-on. No gift in politics comes without a debt.
Even Senator Webster, famed for his oratory and his stance against a central bank, did not speak out against the central bank when he had the opportunity (and duty) because the central bank had given him so many ‘gifts.’

The good news is that 0 can only replace liberal judges with liberal judges. The worst he can do is maintain the balance and replace those who have sometimes uncertain decisions into the fully blown ‘commie’ camp.
What we have to do is hope and pray that none of the CONSERVATIVE/constructionist judges retire or become ill (or get bumped off by Obammie and his commies).

This is the one point that Obama can legitimately use his I won card imo, thus the consequences of people staying home going out to vote for Obama.

Perhaps we can pray that all the nominees are in arears with the IRS.

I agree with you. They should send a letter telling the president their constituents are free and all his attempts to go above the powers granted him by the constitution will be ignored by the states.
They’re just playing politics as usual. It’s not about playing politics anymore. This isn’t a cute little cat fight between James Carville and Mary Matilin-Carville. We’ve fought WARS over what’s happening now and people’s fathers, brothers, and sons have died agonizing deaths to keep this stuff from happening and their playing politics of judicial nominees. HOGWASH!!

Actually, Republicans should insist on picking the Supreme Court nominees, which is what the Democrats did when they were out of power.
Let Obama nominate someone, and then vote against him/her.

And I want a litmus test...is she/he is pro-abortion, we cannot allow them on the bench.

Just deny every one of his picks up and down the list. Demand 2/3rds majority approval. Tell Ted Kennedy to stick it in his rump (he coordinated with PACs to deny hispanic candidates their hearings all for political advantage at the polls).

I'm sure I'll get flamed here, but Obama should pay as much attention to this as Bush did to the suggestions from Democrat Senators that he consult with them first about judicial nominees. If Republicans wanted more input on judicial nominees, they should have run a stronger candidate, a better campaign and won the Presidential election. You are exactly correct.
