President Barack Obama declares America should be ready to talk to the Taliban

President Obama said the military was not winning the counter insurgency war in Afghanistan as he opened the door for peace negotiations.

By persuading Iraqi Sunni insurgents to turn on al-Qaeda extremists, US commanders engineered a sharply drop in violence in Iraq.

President Obama said deals similar to those implemented by General David Petraeus in Iraq could be cut in Afghanistan and Pakistan. "If you talk to General Petraeus, I think he would argue that part of the success in Iraq involved reaching out to people that we would consider to be Islamic fundamentalists, but who were willing to work with us because they had been completely alienated by the tactics of al-Qaeda in Iraq."

"There may be some comparable opportunities in Afghanistan and the Pakistani region, but the situation in Afghanistan is, if anything, more complex," he told the New York Times.

I think it’s dawned on him that you can’t nationalize health care, energy, the banking system, automobile manufacturing, and still prosecute a global war.

You give him too much credit. He has no intention of prosecuting a global war on terror. This is yet another step in the process of dismantling the war.

President Obama said the military was not winning the counter insurgency war in Afghanistan as he opened the door for peace negotiations.

He's going to surrender.
If I've said it once, I've said it a million times - Oboma is doing everything in his power to finish the job his Muslim brothers failed to accomplish on 9/11.

He's set the stage to free every terrorists we've captured, and his policies have destroyed Americas economy within 2 months. He's sending millions to Hamas to destroy Israel, and lifted the sanctions against Syria. He's trying to do the same for Communist Cuba.

If it's destructive to America, Oboma is all for it. Oboma truly is a man of desolation.

I will never forgive the noodle heads that put that moron in our White House, never.

They're never going to forgive themselves, either. We haven't seen anything yet. The man of desolation is just getting started.

Well, all I can say is, he had better not send Hillary for these talks - ...

I think he should send Hillary. She'll drive them nuts. And no matter how backward they are I've got to believe they wouldn't kill the emissary of the greatest friend they've ever had in the Oval Office.

This from the guy who declared Afghanistan to be the epicenter of the War on Terror [before Granholm banned the phrase ‘War on Terror’].

Cheese eating surrender monkey.

Note, this is not a racist insult. It is the same term that was used to describe France’s position and John F. Kerry’s.

"The Taliban is bolder than it was."

I'm waiting for the Obama Administration to cower and surrender to Rush Limbaugh. Nope, they are still feeding hate articles in Newsweak and other members of the Pravda Press.

No kidding. Liberals are cowards, every last one of them.

They aren't cowards. They actively supported Soviet Russia. They found it unthinkable for the US to win over the Communist system in the Cold War.

They actively protested on behalf OF the North Vietnamese Communists during that conflict.

Jane Fonda said we would all love living under Communism if we only knew what it really was.

Liberals oppose Western Civilization. And they have for a very long time (generations).

I don’t have a problem with back door negotiations but what this guy did was tell everyone “We’re not winning the war in Afghanistan” THEREFORE we need to negotiate with them.

That is called surrendering, it is negotiating from a position of weakness and out of it the United States will reap only more violence
