"...public funds are spent on housing that allows alcoholics to drink in their publicly subsidized apartments."

Apparently Seattle is a colony of Bizarro World.

The Puget Sound Partnership is a coalition that is supposedly working to clean up and save Puget Sound. It's run by David Dicks - son of Congressman Norm Dicks.

There's the problem - it's being run by a bunch of Dicks.

"...public funds are spent on housing that allows alcoholics to drink in their publicly subsidized apartments."

Apparently Seattle is a colony of Bizarro World.

Sadly, indeed it is.

Part of the problem can be witnessed at the reader comments area at the original thread link.  You have some strident, shrill, holier-than-thou Seattle leftists and 'homeless advocates' arguing, among other things, that they are 'using their own money' to buy the beer.  LMAO!

If people are on welfare and living in State-provided housing, it's not their money!  It's taxpayer money that's being given to them and then they are being allowed (and encouraged) to buy alcohol with it!  It's even delivered directly to their front door!

LOL I was wondering what crappy level label was being delivered.

This is euthanasia on a whole different level.

So when the residents go into seizure or other alcohol related fatal illnesses does the State of Washington pay the medical care or do they sign a no resuscitate contract to get in the program.

My thought was if they are going to euthenize these poor souls why not do it faster with hard liquor?

One state below Oregon we just had a huge tax added to beer to pay for rehab programs.

Wonder which state funded tax payer program is cheaper? Oregon or Washington.

Wonder also if the place has a waiting list or/and a high turn over rate?

I guarantee you those aholes at Downtown Emergency Services Center will say, “See, It’ Busch beer. It has a lower alcohol content than the High Gravity they usually drink. We’re actually helping them by bringing this stuff to them.”

Holy crap. They’re even too sorry to go fetch THEIR OWN TAXPAYER-FUNDED BEER!

Ah- I’ll bet the multiple-story housing (if that’s what it it) is served by several elevators, too. Wouldn’t want the po wittle drunks to risk a tumble down the stairs, would we? And - AND - I’ll bet there’s an industrial kitchen on site, agleam with stainless steel appliances and utensils, WITH apartment delivery, so the helpless drunks must bestir themselves only as far as from the couch to the door and back in order to feed.

It’s a crazy world. My own state has it’s faults. Still, I’m glad I’m not a *Washington* resident!
