Who the hell is running the Office of Protocol at the WH?? First crappy gifts to the British PM - now misspelling names! When I was in the army I worked as an enlisted person in the CG’s protocol office and heads would have rolled had somebody misspelled a name of a visiting official...
As I just commented in bray’s thread:
We have to remember that, in our current society, the likes of obozo (great name!) are accustomed to being on the receiving end of gift-giving—or “benefits” of any kind. They truly have NO concept of the methods or importance of social graces.
When my Greatest-Generation mother saw the obozos dance at the inauguration ball, she was disgusted with the lack of grace mz-obozo showed—grabbing her dress and all (like an 8th grader wearing her first formal and high heels to a graduation dance). It’s all been downhill from there.
