Lose your property for growing food?

Some small farms and organic food growers could be placed under direct supervision of the federal government under new legislation making its way through Congress.

Food Safety Modernization Act

House Resolution 875, or the Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009, was introduced by Rosa DeLauro, D-Conn., in February. DeLauro's husband, Stanley Greenburg, works for Monsanto – the world's leading producer of herbicides and genetically engineered seed.

DeLauro's act has 39 co-sponsors and was referred to the House Agriculture Committee on Feb. 4. It calls for the creation of a Food Safety Administration to allow the government to regulate food production at all levels – and even mandates property seizure, fines of up to $1 million per offense and criminal prosecution for producers, manufacturers and distributors who fail to comply with regulations.

Michael Olson, host of the Food Chain radio show and author of "Metro Farm," told WND the government should focus on regulating food production in countries such as China and Mexico rather than burdening small and organic farmers in the U.S. with overreaching regulations.

"We need somebody to watch over us when we're eating food that comes from thousands and thousands of miles away. We need some help there," he said. "But when food comes from our neighbors or from farmers who we know, we don't need all of those rules. If your neighbor sells you something that is bad and you get sick, you are going to get your hands on that farmer, and that will be the end of it. It regulates itself."

Dictators are dictators, communist or otherwise.

Buy a couple packs of lettuce seeds and spread them around NOW.

Buy some tomato seeds and spread them around NOW.

Buy a bunch of pea seeds and spread them around NOW.

Buy a bunch of cabbage seeds and spread them around NOW.

Federal law, afaik, has not yet said that if you see a plant growing somewhere, they can throw you into detention, oops, I mean re-education, for eating something you saw growing by the side of the road.

Obamanation intends for America to be just another communist country and stupid people who voted for the fools who will destroy our freedoms and change our God given rights into government privileges are as much to blame as the communist democrats who will destroy them.
Stupid is as stupid does and Americans who vote for liberals are the most stupid of all.

Introduce fresh vegetables to the neighbors and tell them what they will miss if this passes. Also, cantelope and watermelons take up too much space for a small garden if you are tempted.

I planted pinto beans from Walmart as a joke last year and got an unexpected blessing! The Pinto is a pole bean that produces a flat pod. We thought that it had much better taste as a green bean than either the Kentucky Wonder or Fordhook beans we've been growing. This year it will be all Pintos! Have Fun with the Garden!

Leftists seek to control our

ability to travel/relocate,
energy usage,
education of our children,
how many children we’re allowed to have,
and our food.

And the bastards are asking for thousands of Henry Bowmans to do something about it.

Step 4—State farms now produce all and everyone lives in the communist government dictatorship they voted for.

[I am so sick of this nonsense. By what right?]

Obamanation democrats are not concerned with rights but about communist power over all working class people.

My question is; How long are we going to sit down and allow this stuff to happen? Our freedoms are being dissolved waaaaaaaay too fast. We need to stop talking and start acting!

Trade among neighbors completely circumvents and undermines the globalization protocols of the U.N., World Trade Organization, NAFTA, CAFTA, etc...

Just let some government busybody come onto my property to tell me I’m going to lose it for growing vegetables to eat.

He will be staying to help in the garden, you can bet on it.

We need a conservative third party that is run and populated only with conservatives as the communist democrats and liberal republicans are all thieves and liars. Or continue to lose elections when hand picked liberal republicans are the only people the dead GOP runs.

The strategy has to be yelling "FIRE" as often and as loudly as you can at the first signs of government interference. Write letters, make phone calls, educate the neighbors and obamites (harder to do, I know, but it is about planting the seeds of discontent.), and proactively do exactly the opposite of what they expect you to do.

I am constantly amazed at how we have been programmed to question every bit of news that points to the government screwwing us when history repeatedly tells us that they are going to do it again!

I don’t know if you’ve been added to the garden ping list, but take a look at this.

State farms now produce all and everyone lives happily ever after.

During Stalin’s era, in Russia, the state produced all the food. However farmers would not farm. If they were told to take ten tons of fertilizer and put it on a certain field, they took the ten tons and dumped it in the middle of the field. There was no incentive to plant the seed properly and resulted in very poor germination. At the end of the day the farmers spent their spare time working in their own gardens where most of their food came from, and even sold some of it on the black market. Food was at a premium.

Some of you will remember that the Soviet Union purchased massive amount of grain from the U.S. to subsidize their own shortfall production.

If this is what Obama, and our congress, is planning I see many people in cities starving to death, because that is what happened in Russia.

It’s just more of the same Marxist power grab that we’ve seen since Big “O”’s inauguration. Their control over the US food supply will ultimately gain their control over the populace. They better figure out a way to disarm us first though....else, there WILL be a rather unhappy well-armed citizenry to deal with. One that is getting more and more pissed as every day goes by.

I will and so can you. Even if you only have a window sill, plant a tomato in protest of this nonsense! Think of how good a warm, vine ripened Beef Master will be, sliced thick and placed between two pieces of bread with a little mayo. Tell your neighbors!
