The bill’s author gets large amounts of PAC money from agribusiness $2k from Cargill, $4k General Mills $4.5k Kraft Foods $5k Land O’Lakes, but most from various sugar producers -$28K

The congressman author does not write these bills. The companies write them and the congressman just introduces it to congress for passage. Most of the time these dumbos never read the bill, and have no idea what’s in them. for his services the congressman gets large amounts of campaign money for reelection.

This seems to be legislation aimed at small farms that sell to the public. Where is there any mention of the government regulating home gardens?

When vegetables are outlawed... ;)

And what’s the next step? Barring us from shopping at Wal-Mart or the Dollar Store because we’re not paying top dollar for food & basics, thereby effecting the economy? Shuttering all local Thrift Shops?

Smokers thought it would never happen to them. We have two local smoking bans going into effect this summer, while our ‘Rat Governor works on a ban for the entire state.

Someone remind me what country I’m living in again? Yeesh!

I realize that sounds like nothing more than keyboard bravado, but I’m tired of all of this. I pay the danegeld, but not a penny more than I owe, I harm no one and just want to be left alone by the government.

All that anyone can really choose for themselves these days is how far they are going to be pushed. My lines in the sand are clear and well defined, after they are crossed all that’s left is choosing where to be buried.

G_d bestowed upon me some mighty important gifts when he gave me life, and most precious to me is the gift of Liberty. If I die protecting those gifts against those who want to steal them perhaps He won’t be much more disappointed in me than he already is.

I maybe wrong in that and if so, I’ll pay for it, but not at the hands of any man.

Get yourself a hog, grow some lettuce with those maters, and feast on some delicious BLTs.

I believe it is. The corporation fearing liberals started doing that and I’m curious as to how they feel not having a Republican President and Congress to bash over the issue anymore. Especially now that the regulations are getting even tighter.

I wonder if the stupid dems will even run the liberals into a more conservative position.

Leave it to the communists to make liberals seem like freedom loving conservatives.

House Resolution 875, or the Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009, was introduced by Rosa DeLauro, D-Conn., in February. DeLauro's husband, Stanley Greenburg, works for Monsanto – the world's leading producer of herbicides and genetically engineered seed.

DeLauro the Bad Witch ping!

That looks like a blatant conflict of interest to me.

Shades of Feindtein and her legislation that helped her husband Richard Blum make billions in China.

There seems to be no stopping them, even Pelosi has a 30 million dollar harvest (ironic ain't it) mouse for a pet in San Francisco. Paid for by the stimulus porkulus package.

Feds can’t take you property. They are limited to ten miles square and forts and docks and needful buildings.
But during reconstruction, the Federal Government was made to be a corporation - a business.

They can own any dam thing they want now.

Every summer I look forward to home grown tomatoe (thanks Dan Quale!) and cucumber sandwiches. Yes, with mayo!

Juicily delicious

So, instead of seeing law enforcement helicopters flying low over rural areas looking for plots of marijuana and meth labs, they’ll now be looking for corn and tomatoes? Guess I’ll have to boobytrap my garden.

Our last pulp mill closed here and our domestic water rates will double and they are already outrageous! I may invite y’all to a well digging party but come prepared to go to jail as that is against some law in it’s self.

We buy from a local Farmers Market once a week during the season they are open...

That has been documented on another recent thread

We’re eventually going to dig another well here, but we ain’t tellin’ nobody about it. It will be for irrigation purposes. The well for the house is just too far away from the garden to get any meaningful pressure..........let alone the cost for that much hose :)
