KTVA reports:
Governor Sarah Palin announced that she is proposing a bill that will allow the state to accept only 55-percent of federal recovery funds. Palin gave several examples that underlined her reasoning for wanting to reject the funds. In total, if the bill were passed, $515-million of the almost $1-billion would be rejected by the state.
Please keep in mind the language in the "stimulus" bill that allows the state legislature to go around the governor in accepting "stimulus" funds.

She’s the first pol I’ve ever given money too. Wish I had more to give.

I just know that God is throwing all of the tests she has endured at her for a reason. Sarah has my support now and for as long as she needs it. I was proud to vote for Ronald Regan the first time I voted and will be even prouder to vote for her at the top of the ticket.

No, no...
My point was to say that some folks on this board are not satisfied with anything less than absolute purity, however they define such a thing. So, since she accepted SOME of the stimulus money (regardless of the rationale), then she will be called a “RINO” around here.
The perfect being the enemy of the good, and all that...

Ping me. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got to finish hangin up my life sized Sarah Poster.

Outstanding.
Alaska doesn't need a stimulus. The state has enough money from the taxes they charge the Oil Companies to pay people to just live there .
Score one more for Sarah Palin.

I’m already here.
Come on up, we need you. Anchorage is turning purple and as Anchorage goes, so goes the state.

Good for her.
Of course the retaliation will be brutal for her and Alaska, but I am glad she made a stand.

The state has enough money from the taxes they charge the Oil Companies to pay people to just live there .Ha, I guess you didn't see the local news tonight here in Anchorage. Of course, Democrat politicians were whining long and loud. Of course she was accused of putting presidential ambitions ahead of Alaska. Of course she was dogged for rejecting education money to help The Children. Of course! One local business group did thank Sarah, because the $ that she rejected came with the stipulation that whatever programs were created as a result would have to kept permanently.
In short, Sarah rejected the trojan horse, 10th Amendment attacking portion of the money.

Palin 2012 !!
I have a question for you. Do you really think that Sarah Palin can run an effective campaign in 2012 given what the media has already done to her? I ask this in all honesty and not to provoke an argument. I saw so many people back off of their initial support because the media ( Couric, Gibson, etc.) made her out to be either an extremist or an idiot that I feel she will never be able to market herself effectively to the electorate.

Good link. When one considers the reaction congressional clown Clyburn:"The intent of the law is clear and unambiguous, I find nothing in the Congressional Research Service report which questions that intent. One can only conclude Clyburn is clueless in regards to the utility of the 10th admendment.
