A few hate-speech channels have picked up on this and are characterizing it as “pledging allegiance to Obama” vs. backing the budget, or backing the administration.

Here’s another idea. Besides politely asking them for all their information, ask to see their clipboard. Flip through the paperwork of all the robots they have signed up. Even make a comment or two about the names on the list. Then remove all the paperwork and hand them back the empty clipboard.

Quickly destroy the paperwork (an open fireplace is always a nice start). If the Obama volunteer gets “uppity”, take a weapon and escort them off your property.

In so doing, you will not only have expressed displeasure with their Nazi tactics but thwarted any recordkeeping they may have done for that afternoon before they got to your home.

Since the dweeb voluntarily handed you his paperwork and since you destroyed it on your own property, it should be perfectly legal.

That's a distinct possibility.
The best thing would be to be extremely polite with them, and tell them that the last time you checked, we still lived in a Republic. If I strongly agree or disagree with the president's proposals, I'll be sure to communicate that fact to my congressman or U.S. senators. Good day!

Absolutely. They probably publish your name in the local paper so everyone will know who doesn't support dear leader. Unfortunately, I live in DC so I could possibly be lynched for not signing.
