I have nothing but contempt for the state of Kansas. The hayseeds wouldn’t know evil if it came up to them wearing a name tag and kicked them in the teeth.

I can’t believe this bastard is going to walk. I’m sick to my stomach.

“Hayseeds?”

Me think that a jury of true Kansas “hayseeds” would have seen it differently.

Liberals have the free time for jury duty, it appears.

Don't blame the 'hayseeds'. Blame the liberals (both Republicans and Democrats) who are trying to emulate the libs on the coasts.

Why don't you reserve your contempt for the lawyers that hand pick the juries so they get the results they are after?

Kind of odd, coming from a Californian.

Well, this hayseed wasn't on the jury to cast a "guilty" vote, so there wasn't much I could do about your perception of us, despite how important that is to everyone here.

I do know this, however. We hayseeds love it when people from the left coast think we are hayseeds, because it keeps your kind the hell out of our state.

It isn't just Kansas, it's the entire national culture. The near-monopoly the left has had on our national media and our educational system for decades has a cumulative effect.

On the issue of abortion, there's a mass cognitive dissonance. The media won't show abortions, because if they did people would turn strongly against it. Many movies do feature women keeping their babies (Juno, etc.), but these films never show the evil of abortion.

At some level, most people still know abortion is evil, but they can't apply the concept of evil to people, only to things. This is because they've been taught moral relativism and that no matter how evil certain things are, the people involved in them can't be held accountable for their actions because that would be judgmental. Abortion is at the top of the list of those things. No matter how evil it is, the people trafficking in it can't be evil.

I have a student worker who shares my interest in Asian cultures. But she's been totally brainwashed by moral relativism. When I mentioned that Mao was an evil man, she insisted (breathlessly, she got very agitated) that he wasn't evil at all. Yes, the mass murders, the prisons for dissidents, and other things he did were evil, but he himself wasn't evil himself because he was trying to create a utopia. He may have butchered 35 million innocent people, but he truly believed he was going to create a better world, so we can't hold him morally accountable.

So Tiller may do evil things, but he himself can't be evil according to people who think this way. And if he isn't evil, he isn't guilty, and he shouldn't be held accountable. He's just trying to “help women”. The dead babies are a bad thing, and their deaths may have been the result of an evil act, but not an evil intention. In fact, it was a good intention. How do we know it was a good intention? Well, because Tiller said so, just as Mao said so.

Such is the result of decades of programming.
