A China-based cyber spy network has hacked into government and private systems in 103 countries, including those of many Indian embassies and the Dalai Lama, an Internet research group said here Saturday.

The Information Warfare Monitor (IWM), which carried out an extensive 10-month research on cyber spy activities emanating from China, said the hacked systems include the computers of Indian embassies and offices of the Dalai Lama.

India’s not a communist country. No wonder you like Mitt Romney so much.

ARTICLE SNIPPET from the link in post no. 1:

"After initial investigations when the group widened it research it found that the China-based cyber espionage had hacked computer systems of embassies of India, Pakistan, Germany, Indonesia, Thailand, South Korea and many other countries.

In all, the hackers had gained access to 1,295 computer systems of foreign ministries of many countries, including Bhutan, Bangladesh, Latvia, Indonesia, Iran, and the Philippines, the researchers said.

After gaining access to foreign government and private computer systems, the hackers installed malware to exercise control over these computer systems to access any documents."

Embassy of Portugal in India Serving Malware

Yet another embassy web site is falling victim into a malware attack serving Adobe exploits to its visitors. As of last Friday, the official web site of the Embassy of Portugal in India has been compromised (embportindia.co.in). Who’s behind the attack? Interestingly, that’s the very same group that compromised the Azerbaijanian Embassies in Pakistan and Hungary earlier this month. Assessing this campaign once again establishes a direct connection with the Rusian Business Network’s pre-shutdown netblocks and static locations.

Ethiopian Embassy in Washington D.C. Serving Malware

SNIPPET: “Oops, they keep doing it again and again. The web site of the Ethiopian Embassy in Washington D.C (ethiopianembassy.org) has been compromised and is currently iFrame-ed to point to a live exploits serving URL on behalf of Russian cybercriminals, naturally in a multitasking mode since the iFrame used to act as a redirector in several other malware campaigns.

Despite that the iFrame domain (1tvv .com/index.php) is already “taken care of”, details on the original campaign can still be provided.”

Embassy of Brazil in India Compromised

Only an amateur or unethical competition would embedd malicious links at the Embassy of Brazil in India’s site, referencing their online community. With the chances of an Embassy involvement into the fake antivirus software industry close to zero, let’s assess the attack

India’s #1 buddy during the cold war was USSR! They are DINO = democracy in name only

Well, what did you expect India to do, when America was propping up, and arming Pakistan to the teeth, against India, since the beginning of time? It was Russian influence that prevened the United States from being able to do anything to prevent India from dismembering Pakistan in 1971.

The US had sent the Enterprise, into the Bay of Bengal, to aid Pakistan. The Russians check-mated that with their nuclear submarine group.

who else thinks it would be a good thing if these two communist countries just blew each other up?

Well, the only people I imagine would be pleased at the sudden, horrible and likely painful demise of some 3 billion people would be liberals.

For myself, while I recognize the competitive nature of our relationship with India and particularly China, think as human beings we can do better than wish that upon them.

India and America's future looks pretty bright together, IMHO. China and America have a closer relationship than people want to acknowledge and with China's ambitions for the future, needs to be handled with competence, which is in severe shortage in the oval edifice these days.

Don’t these people ever update their firewall, antivirus, and antispyware software? That should be done EVERY DAY, as well as checking for Microsoft Security updates. Also, they could turn their computers OFF when not actually using them.

Well Hill and Bill owe them a few. They've been taking their money since the early '80s.

From the trace that is left in post #3 it was worthy. I’m not sure he was merely a misguided Romneybot. His posts here reek of liberal troll trying to incite FReepers into saying something outrageous. A pretty pathetic attempt if it was.
