Hmm, they're against CO2, they're against phosphates (which I believe act as plant fertilizers), they're against access roads and controlled burns to help control wildfires -- they're starting to remind me of that professor (Filostrato?) in C.S. Lewis' That Hideous Strength who looked forward longingly to the day when the earth would finally be free of the contagion of organic life, just as pristine as the moon!
That sounds about right. I’ve not read that book, yet. I will try to now.
I love the book — I’ve probably read it over a dozen times! :)
Great, now I’ll have that earworm thing going all day.
“East bound and down, loaded up and trucking, we’re gonna do what they say can’t be done.”
Dangit!! Now you’ve gone and infected me!!
“We’ve got a long way to go, and a short time to get there, I’m east bound just watch ole Bandit run...”
Damn, I just might have to listen to Convoy, too!
“Uh, Breaker One-Nine, this here’s the Rubber Duck
You got a copy on me Pig-Pen? C’mon
Uh, yeah 10-4 Pig Pen, fer sure, fer sure
By golly it’s clean clear to Flag-Town, C’mon
Uh, yeah, that’s a big 10-4 Pig-Pen,
Yeah, we definitely got us the front door good buddy,
Mercy sakes alive, looks like we got us a convoy”
