Limbaugh: I'm Leaving the Big Apple

FOXBusiness

Rush Limbaugh said thanks to the state of New York’s new tax, dubbed the, ‘Millionaire Tax,’ he’s leaving the big apple, and he’s not coming back.

In an interview with FOX Business Network anchor Neil Cavuto, Limbaugh spoke out against the new tax and said he expects other New Yorkers will leave the city as well.

“It's not just income taxes that are pressuring people there -- property taxes, even though home values have declined the property taxes haven't -- people have been fleeing the Northeast, including New York and moving to the Southern states many of them with no state income tax,” Limbaugh said. “North Carolina’s getting a lot of Yankees moving in, Florida is, and so forth -- I think it's already happened.”

Limbaugh said he’s been audited by the state every year for the past 12 years and is fed up, calling the state’s new tax the “tipping point,” prompting him to move all work operations outside of the state.

Why does this continue to be a story since Rush left “The Big Apple” years ago??? From what I’ve heard, he’s deciding to NOT spend the usual 12-15 days a year there. Wow...big story!!

>eventually you run out of places to move to

Then you leave America.

Fortunately, there are many states without a Socialist system and where there is no income tax.

How many illegals will it take to replace his 7 figure income? A thousand? Two thousand? And what happens when you factor in his negligible cost to the infrastructure? The break-even point starts to move out almost to infinity.

And the NY Governor is laughing? Good luck making balancing the budget, once the exodus occurs, jerk.

Sadly the same liberal human waste that votes for these types of tax hikes also leave to ruin other states.

He still owns an Apartment there and has been audited by the State of New York every year since he became a Florida Resident. He's going to sell his apartment. I believe Donald Trump is planning to do the same thing.

Well, to answer your question intelligently, it is because any presence in NY prompts NYS to collect income tax on you, even on activities outside the state.

So, if you own any property there - Rush does - and you live most of the time in Florida and derive all of your income outside of NYS, NYS will still try to collect the taxes that they believe that they are entitled to.
Clear enough?

That is exactly what I thought. He has been living and broadcasting out of Fla. for years! Why is this a story?

Because the liberal media is making it a story by making fun of Rush. All of the "don't let the door hit you in the @ss" comments by lefty pundits. But they're missing the whole point. Rush is not the only productive person who is going to leave NY. There are going to be tons other, even Trump talked about leaving. Paterson just opened up a can of worms.

Exactly. And I can’t wait until/if Trump leaves New York too. Then they can fold and crumble the stupid idiots.

Florida doesn’t have an income tax, but we have a huge property tax problem.

Construction (the lifeblood of an economy) will continue to suffer because out outrageous property taxes, coupled with outrageous windstorm premiums.

“Sadly the same liberal human waste that votes for these types of tax hikes also leave to ruin other states.”

That’s the key. These morons who move to the Southern states don’t seem to realize the correlation between their voting habits and what happened in their previous state. They are like locusts...they leave death and destruction in their wake. Once they’ve left, they move on to destroy another state.

Yes, it was “clear enough.” I was merely pointing out what Rush has been saying for days now.

but we have a huge property tax problem...

Uh huh. My property in Valley Forge, Pa. is worth less than my property here on the Treasure Coast.

and the Pa property tax is 3 times what my taxes are here.
There is a huge problem alright.
