About 7,500 people showed up at the Tea Party at Save Mart Center, one of thousands held around the country on tax day.
Fresno was just one of thousands of cities to host a tea party on Wednesday and was also one of the largest events in the county.
The event is based on the pre-revolutionary war protests in Boston, where Americans took a stance against excessive government taxation.
The people at the tea party in Fresno say they don't care if you're a Republican or a Democrat. They say everyone, from every background or social standing should be upset about the current trend of big government, big spending policies and huge corporate bailouts.
Its not known if all the protests will have any affect on the politicians but that didnt stop the people attending from making their feelings known.

Thanks, Jim. I still maintain that we had at least 2000 people there. I know how to count crowds. I don’t know where the girl that took the video got her numbers.
Indeed. MB, I had a heck of a time getting a count from Beckley, WV. I finally found a blurb on their local paper’s web site about the plans for a tea party and there was a phone number to call for info. So I did. I got the count and I think I also got FR a new member. The woman said she had never been an activist before, but now she is and is also now known as a domestic terrorist. We talked for some time on the phone and I think she will make a great freeper. I’m going to have to call her back and see if she checked us out.
I believe the MSM intentionally under-counted ALL of the Tea Parties, while at the same time making fun of those attending. I didn't listen to much of post-party reports, but I did hear that FOX, of course, gave the most unbiased coverage.
We are hoping to have another on July 4th at the Tulare Ag Center (which is about three miles from our house) and has more than enough space for many thousands of people under covered shelters with fans. (It's where we have the annual World Ag Expo - our claim to fame, LOL). Anyway, Bakersfield had a couple thousand at their Tea Party, we had around eight thousand at ours, and nearby Hanford had a good crowd too. We are hoping to get all of them together at the Ag Center on the 4th. The planners are talking about a "Freedom Breakfast" party so that families can later go celebrate the 4th as they normally would. Whatever they decide, we will be there!
Well, gosh, I sure hope she doesn't find out what nasty things a certain cast member of "24" (I refuse to mention her name again!) called her and ALL of us who attended a Tea Party. Compared to her tirade on MSNBC, "domestic terrorist" is nuthin'.
Yes, recruit her as a FReeper. I am going to see if we can have a FReeRepublic table at the "Freedom Breakfast" to introduce new people to this website. Of course, it will be up to Jim, but it was Amy's idea and I think it's a good one.
I've tried to read as much as possible on all the tea parties, but it's a lot of reading. Henchster has a great tea party "count" that is reaching close to 1,000,000. When we get all the counts in, we will shoot it to the conservative media.
I'm done for today. Have to get some work done. Hugs.
Here’s the story about Saturday’s Tea Party that has my fat ugly mug in it:
