Translation: I won’t bring this up until the Congressional elections are over, because then it would be “1994” all over again.

Hence the importance of the “rightwing terrorist” report: marginalize & demonize those who would oppose such legislation. Once the bill starts moving, anyone resisting its passage can be duly dismissed & silenced as “terrorists”.

Maid of Orleans

You got my sympathies totally. I don’t know how you can deal with it. Just know this. All California freepers who wish to get out, come to Texas.

You get automatic citizenship here. You will make out like bandits because our property is much less than CA. You will help to make a conservative state even more strongly conservative. Californians love Austin. The hills remind them of home. Just no ocean. Beware though, Austin is the most liberal city in the state. Known as the “Peoples Republic of Austin”. :)

I know everyone hates people from California, but I really want to empasize that not all of us are libs. We have been invaded and taken over by libs and what has happened to us can happen to you. If not for S.F. and L.A. the state would be Conservative. Just like you.

My family came to California at the turn of the century so we have been here a long time. Other relatives came in the 1840’s before Ca. was even a state. Why should I have to sacrifice my state to the parasites who have infected us?

HR 45 to impose Federal gun licensing, you will have to get a license to own a gun.

Uh, over my dead body.

"If we are to BELIEVE the LIE about US guns going to Mexico, Then WHY Aren't there gun battles in CANADA with these weapons???????????????"

The better question would be: where in the US do I need to go to be able to buy machine guns, hand grenades, and rocket launchers?

Those is pretty much the facts in a nutshell. The 90% figure is probably a total fabrication, but just assuming it is accurate, the claim was that 90% of guns which can be traced came from the US.

The ONLY guns which can be traced come from the US, plain old civilian guns. All those imported automatic weapons can't be traced. All those grenades and RPGs can't be traced. All those boatloads of Russian, Romanian, Bulgarian weapons can't be traced. Arms dealers who deal with drug cartels don't sell traceable weapons.

But the average CNN Joe only hears that US gun shows are arming the Mexican drug cartels. Congress is happy to reinforce that myth. So is Obama.

The Mexican government will never admit that these drug cartels can import anything they want across Mexico's easy borders with billions in cash.

Seriously, all that military hardware did NOT come from the US. The cartels would love for the US to be disarmed so they can continue their profitable business safely. I am beginning to think that there are legislators who work for the cartels.

Abraham Lincoln. December, 1839. Many free countries have lost their liberties, and ours may lose hers; but if she shall, may it be my proudest plume, not that I was the last to desert her, but that I never deserted her! I know that the great volcano at Washington, aroused and directed by the evil spirit that reigns there, is belching forth the lava of political corruption in a current broad and deep, which is sweeping with frightful velocity over the whole length and breadth of the land, bidding fair to leave unscathed no green spot or living thing; while on its bosom are riding, like demons on the waves of hell, the imps of the evil spirit, and fiendishly torturing and taunting all those who dare resist its destroying course with the hopelessness ol their efforts; and knowing this, I cannot deny that all may be swept away. Broken by it I too may be; bow to it I never will. The probability that we may fall in the struggle ought not to deter us from the support of a cause which we deem to be just. It shall not deter me. If ever I feel the soul within me elevate and expand to those dimensions not wholly unworthy the Almighty Architect, it is when I contemplate the cause of my country deserted by all the world besides, and I, standing alone, hurling defiance at her victorious oppressors. And here, without contemplating consequences, before high heaven, and in the face of the whole world, I swear eternal fidelity to the just cause, as I deem it, of the land of my life, my liberty, and my love. And who that thinks with me will not adopt the oath that I take? Let none falter who thinks he is right, and we may succeed. But if, after all, we shall fall, be it so. We shall have the proud consolation of saying to our conscience, and to the departed shade of our country’s freedom, that ‘the course approved by our judgments and adored by our hearts, in disaster, in chains, in torture, and in death, we never faltered in defending.

BTW, I noticed in his meeting with Calderone, the Mexican president was significantly shorter than Obama. Oddly enough, however, there was no "height difference" bow.

I guess Calderon is not "keeper of the Holy Sites", or even a Muslim.

TDF Texas Defense Force (Texas National Guard)

There's more to the Texas Military Forces than the Army National Guard (1 Division). There are also the Air National Guard, (F-16s (2 Wings) and C-130s (1 wing), the Texas State Guard, with air (5 Wings) , ground (6 regiments), maritime (1 regiment), and medical (1 brigade) components. Of the 3 major components, the Texas State Guard is the oldest.

Obama will seek these 4 elements in a gun bill

1. An expanded HR 45, gun owner licensing. All gun owners will have to have these licenses, even owners of facilimie weapons (AKA Airsoft and BB). Licenses will only be granted if the records of the applicant are clean (This includes misdemeanors from decades ago). Licenses will have high renewal fees ($100-300/yr). Licensees will be required to hold $1 million in liability insurance. Possession of otherwise permitted weapons (See #3) without license is a felony.

2. Ammunition accountability... All ammo will be required to be microstamped and will be taxed $1/round. All non stamped ammo will be required to be turned in or thrown away. Possession of non-marked ammo is a felony. This part of the act also bans “Cop Killer” bullets. Furthermore, this will require the gun to leave a microstamp of its own on the ammo. (BTW, this will also affect law enforcement and military ammunition stocks, as they will be required to have stamps of their own)

3. Expanded “Assault Weapons” ban— This includes most all semiauto rifles, anything that can be “Bump Fired”, Semiauto handguns, and Semi-auto shotguns. It also includes pump-action shotguns and “Sniper Rifles” AKA your deer rifle. The AWB will also require people with “Prebans” to register their guns as Machine Guns, and that the tax stamp will go up to $10,000 per weapon. If you can’t afford this, you have to turn the weapon in without compensation...

4. Expansion of the Lautenberg amendment: Removes “Domestic Violence” as disqualifier to gun ownership, inserts any misdemeanor as disqualifer... Anyone with a misdemeanor on their record will be prohibited from owning a firearm. This includes DUI and traffic offenses, and offenses decades ago.

Finally, all CCW permits will be voided. Also, all gun and ammo imports will be banned.
