Emanuel Says Obama Insists On Implementing Two State Solution, No Ifs, Ands, or Buts
Israel Policy Forum ^ | 4-16-09 | M. J. Rosenberg

Yedioth Achronoth, the largest circulation daily in Israel, reports today that President Obama intends to see the two-state solution signed, sealed and delivered during his first term.

Rahm Emanuel told an (unnamed) Jewish leader; "In the next four years there is going to be a permanent status arrangement between Israel and the Palestinians on the basis of two states for two peoples, and it doesn't matter to us at all who is prime minister."

He also said that the United States will exert pressure to see that deal is put into place.

"Any treatment of the Iranian nuclear problem will be contingent upon progress in the negotiations and an Israeli withdrawal from West Bank territory," the paper reports Emanuel as saying.

In other words, US sympathy for Israel's position vis a vis Iran depends on Israel's willingness to live up to its commitment to get out of the West Bank and permit the establishment of a Palestinian state there, in Gaza, and East Jerusalem.

Yedioth also reports that Obama is conveying his displeasure with the new Israeli government in several ways.

"US administration officials informed Netanyahu that President Obama will not be able to meet with him in early May, while the AIPAC conference is held in Washington.

The meeting between the new Israeli premier and the president of the United States is perceived in Israel as a sign that the formation process of the new government has been completed and as a salutation by Israel's close friend.

Netanyahu had hoped to capitalize on the opportunity and to meet with Obama during the annual AIPAC conference, but the Americans informed the Israelis that Obama was not going to be 'in town.'

That being the case, the inclination among Netanyahu's aides is to cancel his trip to attend the AIPAC conference and to try to secure a date for a meeting with Obama later in May.

"Sources in Washington also said that the Obama administration would not continue the tradition that developed during the Bush administration of hosting Israeli premiers many times during the year, sometimes with just a phone call's advance notice."

So far neither the White House or the Israeli government has commented on the report which, it should be noted, comes from Shimon Shiffer, one of Israel's most highly respected journalists.

Europe and the rest of the Middle East will be real happy with that. Somebody needs to explain to Otrauma and the ballerina that the Iranians having nuclear weapons is a major worldwide threat. We have a Muslim maniac in the White House. Dear Lord, please help us. The world cannot afford this on-the-job training.

We are a perilous ally, and a more perilous benefactor.

Israel was once a media darling, a cover girl. Now can't get a date with 0bama. One hopes Israel has contingent plans for going it alone, because they are alone and have been for years...on a diminishing sliver of land between Devil and deep blue.

Eventually there will be hell to pay, and hell tends to consume not only evildoers, but those who enable evil.

I do not believe this nation can survive if Israel goes down. A world war began when an archduke went down, and Israel is more than an archduke.

This is where Republicans should pack up and go and meet with with the new Govt. of Israel.

( Just like the rats always do running to hug Castro, Chavez or some murderous thug in the middle east when a Republican is in the White House.)

And then announce to the world that our current criminal govt. does not stand with you, But that we always have and always will.

Obama, and Soros, and Podesta, and Morton Halperin, and SDS founder Aryeh Neier, and ... are taking control. They have the Executive, CIA, Justice, Treasury.

Don't forget the abundance of appointed, unelected "Czars" for every segment of society who have usurped the power of our Congress and Constitution. America's own Politburo. Coming soon: Gulags for those who oppose?

Hey folks,
American Jews (like usual) voted for the deomcrrat in droves. Israel gets what they deserve, as does the U.S. after they elected this empty suit.

While I am opposed to it, since the end of the Cold War (New World Order) it has been the objective of the United States to support the formation of a State of Palestine next to Israel. It is not a policy that the U.S. is going to all together abandon.

My father in law who served in the Israeli Army advocates the two state solution.

His words to me on the issue were:

“My children are Jewish and traveled to an Israel at war, my grandchildren are Jewish and traveled to an Israel at war and I want their children to travel to an Israel at peace. If we do not make peace with those people now, there will not be an Israel in 100 or 1000 years.”

Rahm Emanuel - proof that self-hating Jews who have forgotten who their God is are in for a big wake up call.

Emanuel sold his birthright to Chicago politicians and his birthplace to the Arabists.

He is nothing more than a POS.

They’ve reduced Israel to a pea-sized spot on the vast middle eastern landscape and now they want to split the pea?

Ironic that Jews like Rahm Emmanuel are helping.

Emmanuel means “God with us”. Too bad he’s not with God.

“And how does this differ from the Bush-Powell-Rice policy?”

It doesn’t. Both administrations work(ed) for the same New World Order that’s calling the shots.

I have to wonder if the teleprompter has been programed yet. These words do not have the sound that this comes down from Bama but up from Rahm, the scribe and enforcer.

I’m so relieved to see that Rahm and Obama support the Two-State Solution because I don’t think there’s any way that Red Staters and Blue Staters can continue to life together in peace.

Oh wait.

They’re talking about Israel.

Never mind.

Bush Sr. and Baker were Arabists (arms & “grain credits” to Israel’s enemies); Bush Sr. was humiliated soon thereafter.

A war he stopped too early, wimping out on no new taxes, a race riot, and a pitiful loss to a deeply flawed opponent.

I think you may have that backwards. Pres GW Bush did the best with younger Jews. Older Jews are more likely to be lifelong New Deal Democrats who would never dream of voting Republican.

Young Jews More Likely To Vote GOP Than Their Elders

http://www.forward.com/articles/14481/

Polls indicate that younger Jewish voters are more inclined to vote Republican, with preliminary results indicating that 32% of Jews in the 18-49 age range supported Bush. In addition, the core constituency of the traditional Democratic Jewish base, senior citizens, is shrinking.
