Yup. Would love to see lots of music and high school marching bands, color guards, local guard units, veterans, reenactment companies, etc. And flags and patriotic bunting everywhere. We’d have to hold them at county fairgrounds or in private parks where we can bbq pork, serve beer, set off fireworks displays, etc.

I’m reading G.K. Chesterton’s Orthodoxy and he says that humility can either be a spur to improve or a nail in your shoe slowing you down. I think that dare I say largely white, dare I say largely Christian people in this Christian have let themselves be intimidated into be humble in the sense of a nail in the shoe. I don’t know whether this can turn around.

Guess I’m just too damned dumb to realize it can’t be done. Been that way all my life. Must be a flaw in my character.

To All,

Taxes are the symptom. Here is the reason for our protests. View it, pass it on, and check out the site. They are planning a march on washington :)

.

The video is a description of the 5 supposed forms of government, from 100% government control (Communism, facism, totalitarianism etc) to 0% government (anarchy) it obliteraties all forms of government as only temporary and futile except for 2, olgiarchy and republic. It does this in a clear concise manner, which effectively shows even a grade schooler about them. It then, in the last few moments, explains Rome, its beginning as a republic, and its morph into a democracy. The parallels are well put, and clearly where this country is today. It is an excellent way to spread the word to those who have never been taught proper history, and that is alot of people since they have been re writing it for so long now.

I have been posting this sucker all over all day, and sometimes I forget that some are stuck at work, so I have included the above basic description of the video, however it does not do the video justice. I beg, implore and urge all to view it who have not. THIS is the reason we are so angry. Taxes are a symptom, losing our republic is the disease!!!!!

I just came from a TEA party and several of the speakers made the point that this is all about FREEDOM. People have the freedom to attend or not to attend. As someone who has been teaching college students for over 25 years, I would appreciate all of my students being as responsible as you to choose class over something that they would have preferred to do. There will be other events and other ways that you can show your support.

This was my first protest (Bakersfield). I stood with several cohorts (veterans in our 50’s), and we all discussed how we’ve never been the protesters before.

We all decided, on our own, that it is time.

Thank you so much. Not only do I take my classes very seriously but I value the time and effort my professors put into their classes and show my respect by being on time to class and attending regularly. I look at it the same way I looked at my job and right now school IS my job.

I have been voting since I was 18, have worked on numerous political campaigns, both locally and on the national level, including making telephone calls, passing out literature, etc.

Not everyone can go to the “mission field” and so some of us just have to stay home support in other ways.

I really appreciate what you said.
