[41-year-old] Newsom could face opposition from 71-year-old Attorney General Jerry Brown and 64-year-old Lt. Gov. John Garamendi in next year's Democratic primary, as well as 56-year-old Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and 75-year-old U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, also mentioned as possible contenders.

Look at those ages. The only serious dem competitors are Newsom and Villar.
