And here are the ones whose bishop is overdue to retire + when they were supposed to retire:
Two more dioceses will be overdue as of this August:
Have you heard anything about possible appointments to these dioceses? Drop me a line in the comment box or send me an email ("thomas [at] americanpapist.com"). I'm especially interested in Gaylord, MI. Thanks!
In case you were wondering.
Oh, don’t worry about overdue situation in Cincinnati, OH.
The Holy Father will take care of (read: fire) Pilarczyk upon his retiring age pronto.

The list is at least partially wrong. Bishop Robert Cunningham is presently our Bishop in the Diocese of Ogdensburg.
My face is red (see previous post). I haven’t been to church since Easter Monday due to severe bronchitis. After posting, I checked out the North Country Catholic to find the sad news about Bishop Cunningham. He is a very special man and will be sadly missed. Sorry for my impertinent post!
He was appointed to Syracuse two days ago.

For a list of contact information regarding the Notre Dame scandal, go to: http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2009/mar/09032706.html
(1) Archbishop Alfred Hughes of New Orleans
(2) Bishop John M. D'Arch of Fort Wayne/South Bend
They stick out because of what they are doing about the scandal in colleges: Archbishop Alfred Hughes recently boycotted an awards ceremony at Xavier for a pro-abort (Donna Brazile).
Archbishop Hughes was one of the first 15 to speak out about Notre Dame U. scandal.
As for Bishop John M. D'Arcy, he has done an excellent job with the scandal regarding Notre Dame University.
Please note that at the age of retirement, the letter of resignation is automatically sent to the Pope.
The Pope does not have to act on it, nor accept it immediately. In the case of Cardianl O'Connor of New York, JPII allowed him to be an active, voting cardinal until his death -- even though he was severely ill with cancer...
