New Online Classifieds - Arms List

Tired of Ebay and Craigslist snubbing you?

Has your local paper refused to list guns in their classifieds section?

Afraid of overreaching legislation designed to strip away your ability to purchase firearms from other law abiding individuals?

Local suppliers unable to meet demand?

Visit the Arms List

They boast, " ARMSLIST, is a free local classified site for listing hand guns, pistols, rifles, shotguns, ammunition, archery, and hunting equipment. We created this site to allow people to find buyers and seller in their local community and not have to pay fees to list their stuff. We wanted the site to be simple, easy to use, and non-intrusive, but specifically for buying, selling, and trading guns!

ARMSLIST was created by a number of gun owning and gun loving Americans after seeing firsthand how the popular marketplace sites on the Internet shun firearms. We appreciate all the help and support that everyone has given us and hope for continued success of the site!"

They have local classifieds springing up in cities all over the country.I've already found a sweet little number i'll be checking on as soon as I write this post. All state and federal laws apply of course!

P.S. Inevitably some hack will pound his fist on a desk somewhere and announce that this is criminal and should be stopped. Of course, people sell firearms to each other every day at garage sales, among family and friends by word of mouth, at gun shows and in the paper (some of them)so this should be no big deal right?

Use it while you can!

This smells like a BATFag sting operation to me.

You’ll know its a govvie operation if they permit listing illegal weapons such as Class 3’s and other “hunting equipment” you do not usually see in the local sporting goods store.

I suppose it is possible. But, if no serial numbers are listed, and contact for the actual sale is made with a telephone, it does not appear that they gain much, if anything.

They could determine who advertised a gun for sale - but that it legal, and after the sale, the gun would not be there.

My 2 pence worth.

Being a Brit, and not being exposed to firearms in everyday activities, the idea of a classifieds for guns seems obviously a bit strange to me!

I don't have a problem with it though, and although I have reservations about undesirables using this service to get weapons for terrorist activities, I think it's a good idea for gun fans and users to buy and sell their kit.

I think the majority of genuine gun owners have the gile and vision not to sell their unwanted kit to dubious characters.
I'm not sure the new US administration will see it that way though.

Gunbroker.com is also another viable option.

“that it” should be “that is”.

What if the BATFags are the webmasters, and are busy collecting and mining data?

Aside from the use of the internet, classifieds for guns is the way it has been in the United States as long as there have been classified ads. I am sure it was that way in Great Britain before 1920, as well, and crime was much lower then.

A very fond memory of mine is going with my father to buy a pump shotgun that he discovered though a classified ad about 1964.

Here’s a tip. The bad guys don’t use legal means to get firearms.

Certainly, they could collect data, but I don’t see that they gain anything more than they would by doing the same on FR.

Yup, although I’m not intimately knowledgeable on the subject, that’s a valid point.

Are they really that smart??? Remember, they are a GOVERNMENT organization and only hire the least able among us.

Well, considering I hold an FFL and have to jump through allt he hoops to legally make a sale, I’ll go ahead and use it. Really, it’s no different than advertising over at THR or the ARFCOM EE.

Excellent news! NOTE: The 2nd Amendment is SELF-incorporated to all government entities at every level. It is MORE ABSOLUTE than the 1st Amendment, or any of the others, because the wording forbids not only CONGRESS, but ANYONE from infringing on it. The 1st says “Congress shall make no law...”. The 2nd say “shall NOT be infringed!” Period! End of debate!

I’ve used Gunbroker.com and AuctionArms.com for years. They work fine.

You take a chance listing guns anywhere, even reputable sites like ar15.com have unsavory characters lurking. This is no different.

I too noticed that. I don't let any site set a cookie on my 'puter on the first date, or until I learn a lot more about them and even then it's still iffy.
