Socialist Myth Romney working to reshape GOP's image into Democrat Lite
NECN ^ | 05-02-09 | NECN: Washington, D.C.

Posted on 05/02/2009 6:52:12 PM PDT by GOP_Lady

Former governors Mitt Romney and Jeb Bush joined Congressman Eric Cantor to talk health care, the economy and national security at the first town hall meeting for the National Council for a New America on Saturday. But the group steered clear of abortion and same-sex marriage -- wedge issues that have led to the defection of moderates and independents.

"Listening to people can make a difference. We've got ideas on how we can help people get health insurance, how we can improve our schools, how we can make our economy strong today as well as down the road, how we can reform entitlements -- these are the people of America that have these ideas," Romney said. "We want to share these ideas with one another, and make sure that we're laying out a vision and a plan for America that makes our lives and the lives of our kids better."

Romney lost the Republican presidential primary to Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) in the 2008 election. Since President Obama's election, the Republicans have come under danger of being locked into a filibuster-proof Senate.

Romney said that the focus needs to be return to the American people, rather than elected officials.

"America is great because of the American people, and the skill and ingenuity and entrepreneurship of America. That's what we happen to believe," Romney said of himself, Congressman Eric Cantor and former governor Jeb Bush. "I happen to think right now with regards to our economy, that we're risking doing the very thing to our economy that government did to our housing market. And that is borrow so much money that you create a bubble that ultimately collapses."

Just so there’s no misunderstanding of my intent: FR will NOT be misused by the socialist Romney’s takeover campaign. Keep posting your garbage propaganda, I’ll keep telling the truth about his abortionist socialism!

Sooner or later, one of us is going to get tired and leave FR.

Indeed, especially when it involves more people than the one mentioned in the title. It’s a GROUP effort.

Destroying conservatism is ALWAYS a "group effort", leftists don't do ANYTHING as individuals.

Well, I didn’t write the article — the very first one out.

What can I say?

All I can to Romney is please sir go away. You didn’t win last time with your Hillary Care program and compassionate conservative II campaign. I don’t want universal health insurance. I don’t want global warming initiatives. I don’t want your Massachusetts values. Try getting elected and actually governing as a conservative and then maybe I’ll consider you. I swear if they try to shove Romney down our throats again I’m done with the GOP. It was hard enough supporting McCain but at least the man had a fairly conservative voting record outside of the immigration and campaign finance issue something which Mr. Romney doesn’t have. He has money and good looks and the GOP needs principles not a used car salesman to trick America into voting for him. Also I have not forgotten how Mr. Cantor voted for the Bush Bailout and with the Democrats on their AIG bill of attainder. McCain was just a pain in the ass but I knew where he stood and could reconcile myself with that but Romney I have no idea but what he says now which is entirely different than what he said yesterday and two years ago.

Maybe I’m wrong but I am sick of his type of seemingly unprincipled politician. Romney has a long way to go to prove himself because I’m not up for anymore faith based politics where Republicans are concerned.

Why did you feel the need to repost an article that had already been posted?

No big deal, there’s nothing wrong with two threads bashing Myth and his RINOsocialist cabal.

“So far all I see is lets shoot it down before we see what ideas come out of it. That makes real sense and is exactly why we lost the election and filled the Senate and House with RATS. Keep up the BS and we will end up with nothing again. Why, for a change, act grown up and filter all ideas and put together something beside BS complaints.”

This site caters to a niche market.

They need to re-listen to Rush at CPAC

A radio guy at a formal gathering is the compass?

He will set folks straight? Really?

Do you believe movies and cartoons too?

How do you figure he knows so much better than you?
