Subsonic loads can be reloaded for most bolt action calibers.

I would think that one would want to stick with the heavier grain bullets that would have more punch at lower velocities.

A quiet 45/70 might be fun for night hunting of coyotes?

I found it VERY telling that the first .22 cal cartridges to get sold out were subsonic “sniper” rounds.

I like the idea of a 500 grain subsonic, but you sure don’t need the case capacity of a 45-70 to push it that slow, and that large of a case might just prove problematic for uniform ignition.
