That statement was news to me, so I googl;ed “I’m running for senate, not the president” and “Obama”.

Here’s what I got:

Whether Obama was born in Hawaii or not, doesn’t really matter. Just being born in Hawaii does not make Obama a “natural born citizen”. Becoming a “natural born citizen” depends on the status of both parents citizenship. Both parents must have been citizens of the United States at the time of Obama’s birth in order for him to obtain “natural born citizen” status.

I believe that you are incorrect. I may be wrong (and if I am, please show me), but I believe that at the time he was born the law was that a person was a natural born citizen if:

1) both parents were US citizens, no matter where the child is born [N/A in this case];

2) the child was born in the US, no matter the citizenship of the parents [the old "anchor baby" problem, see below]; and

3) one of the parents was a US citizen who was a citizen of the US for 5 years after their 16th birthday (thus needing to be at least 21 - and BO's mother was only 19 when he was born) [also N/A here].

Since 1 and 3 don't apply to him, BO can only be a "natural born citizen" if #2 applies...hence the BIG DEAL about whether he was, in fact, born in Hawaii or not. If yes, then he's eligible to be President; if no, then he's undoubtedly guilty of multiple felonies, in addition to not being eligible to be the POTUS.

A "Certificate of Live Birth" is NOT a birth certificate - only the long form can establish that he was born in Hawaii (or maybe there isn't one, meanng that he wasn't born in Hawaii).

You’re making that up.

I would imagine there are filing boxes in Hawaii’s vault so that Obama’s document would be pressed in with hundreds of others.

A forensic analysis of Obama’s document compared with documents in the same filing box would clarify whether the documents are identically aged.

Also Toronto’s museum staff would certainly be alerted to any diversion.

Obama’s lawyers will continue to stonewall. If there is no valid long form BC in Hawaii’s vault, then they know that a less than perfect forgery will be detected and the whole thing will result in a process of discovery.

Ok then... what effect does the term “natural born citizen” have as it appears in Article 1, Section 2 of the US Constitution?

Article 1, Section 2 states:

No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President;

Based on Chief Justice Marshall’s opinion as stated in Marbury vs Madison...

“It cannot be presumed that any clause in the constitution is intended to be without effect; and therefore such construction is inadmissible, unless the words require it.”

The term “natural born citizen” must have an effect on the requirements for the office of President.

However though, not the same effect as the term “citizen” in the 14th Amendment, Section 1, Clause 1:

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.

That effect can not be the same as the effect which the term “citizen” has in the 14th Ammendment.

There is! Article 2, Section One of the U.S. Constitution states that the President must be a natural born American citizen. The only evidence available is that Obama was born in Kenya.
