Pelosi: Bush briefers lied to me
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says Bush administration told her explicitly they weren't using waterboarding on terror detainees during a Sept. 2002 briefing on interrogation tactics -- months after they had begun waterboarding Abu Zabaydah.
Pelosi also called on CIA director Leon Panetta to release full details on her briefing -- and shook her head in the affirmative when asked if the administration had actually "lied" to her.
"The only mention of waterboarding in the briefing was that it was not being employed," she told reporters, reading from a prepared statement -- twice for emphasis.
The intelligence briefers gave Pelosi, she said, "inaccurate and incomplete information."
"Perhaps they should release the briefing-- I would be very happy if they released the briefing," Pelosi added.
She keeps digging.....:)

Is she calling for the minutes to be released? WHat is her motiation here?
As was said....”Pelosi will now find out what happens when she calls the CIA liers.” Democrats would do well to divorce themselves from her.

I’d love to see the CIA release a memo with everything except the date, title, her name and the sentence “We are waterboarding suspects daily” blacked out.
Looking at all the current events, I’d say Obama wants Pelosi GONE......

Isn’t this her 6th or 7th interpretation of what took place? Not that she had credibility to begin with but sheees, she sets new lows.
I’d say, we’ll release the transcripts when the after action reportts on how many lives were saved from the intellignece gained are also released. Not before.

In the fall of 2002, while I was chairman of the House intelligence committee, senior members of Congress were briefed on the CIA’s “High Value Terrorist Program,” including the development of “enhanced interrogation techniques” and what those techniques were.

Today, I am slack-jawed to read that members claim to have not understood that the techniques on which they were briefed were to actually be employed; or that specific techniques such as “waterboarding” were never mentioned.
