Controversy Over Legislature Declaring Islam Day in Hawaii
Hawaii Reporter ^ | 5/8/2009 | By Daniel de Gracia,

Posted on 05/14/2009 11:16:56 PM PDT by Bokababe

Recently the Hawaii State Legislature recognized September 24th as "Islam Day" through the passage of House Concurrent Resolution 100 and House Resolution 79.

It has been argued that it was necessary to recognize Islam in order to promote religious tolerance, but if that is true, why did the Legislature fail to even give a hearing to House Bill 1282 and Senate Bill 136 which would have established "Religious Freedom Day" in Hawaii for the celebration of not one, but all faiths and religions in Hawaii?

The decision to pick a day to honor a single religion versus a day that would have honored all religions seems less like tolerance and more like the Legislature's annoying habit of picking winners and losers when it comes to our state.

The only way they could have been more offensive in this would to have made it Sept 11th.

Rationale:

1) Follow the money as to islamist donated cash to the crooks.
2) Pure democrat/liberal degenerate Dhimmihud.

Islam day in Hawaii, isn't that the day that all the Haoles go out and get some?

I bet the native Hawaiian groups love having a foreign religion lorded over them.

Every mosque in America should be expropriated as a base from which internatonal terror is funded , and from which recruits are sent overseas for jihad training.

Its all done on the QT while the Zero looks the other way.

It could be Sept. 11th, depending on which calendar is used. Andrew Walden of the Hawaii Free Press has written about this as a reality (Julian v. Moslem calendars, etc).

Also, Sept. 24th is an insult to Jews as it fall right between Rosh Hashonah (Jewish New Years) and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement, the holiest day of the Jewish calendar).

Don’t think that the Jihadists and their Democratic friends, plus one strange Republican, don’t know what they are doing.

Let’s see if Sen. Akaka (D-Ha) shows up in this, or Rep. Neil Abercrombie (D-ha) an old lefty and friend of Obama’s family.

This is as strange, absurd, and totally inappropriate as the residents of Mecca deciding to have a Hawaiian Day...

You have a paradise on Earth, blissful isolation, an entire toursist-based economy built on skimpy beach clothing, rum drinks and kalua pork, bedecked by images of pagan Tikis and you go out of your way to honor...Islam? It's utter madness. Could they find anything more fundamentally at odds with everything that goes on in Hawaii?

The syndicated New York Times crossword today had the clue, “The only President born in Hawaii.” The puzzle’s always tougher from Thursday through Saturday, but I can’t figure out the answer to this one.

HINT: “Hawaii” is the unofficial name of a small suburb of a remote native village in Kenya.

Kenya? Then the answer is the sexiest First Lady EVAR’s husband?

Thanks, I should be able to finish now.

Discrimination by religion is no more valid than discrimination based on skin color, and I say this as someone who was as guilty as anybody before recently coming to know some very fine people who are Muslim.

There are fanatic Christians just as there are fanatic Muslims. Because many undeveloped parts of the world are predominantly Muslim, I would even venture to say there is a much higher number of fanatic Muslims than fanatic Christians.

If one must generalize then do so based on culture, and not on traits that don't closely correlate with behavior. If we do this then decent people around the world, regardless of race or religion, will stand together rather than being at one-another's throats.

Then we can send the warthogs out to mop up those who are truly deserving.

I lived in Hawaii for about a year in the early 90's. Nanakuli, Makaha, Kaneohe (but mostly Nanakuli) and it took me awhile to gain the trust of the locals. I knew one of the leaders and organizers of the sovereignty movement that was shaping up at the time. Anyway, they were very nice people, but boy, when they got mad...

These Muslims start pulling their crap over there in the local areas, it'll be open season day on Muslims...

So what does one bomb or burn on that day as an appropriate way to celebrate this most blessed event?

Discrimination by religion is no more valid than discrimination based on skin color

Oh, please. Both are perfectly valid. You don't slap SPF 4 on a white guy who's gonna be digging post holes for you all day, and if you need a shooting guard who can run fast breaks with the best of them and elevate for rebounds and alley-oop passes, you don't draft a white guy.

Ditto with religion. You don't squander your best ham by sending it around for a seder dinner, where you'll just insult the guests while wasting the ham, and you don't schedule your annual beer bong for Easter Sunday.

Varying your conduct and your calendar events according to the religious affiliation of potential participants is perfectly logical -- and "discriminatory". Such as excluding altars set up to Lord Satan from the new Newman Center you're building at Notre Dame.

Capiche?

Stop lobotomizing yourselves, people. Let the liberals lobotomize themselves if they want, but don't participate. It's against our value system.
