Oh relax everyone. Obama will convene a summit with Kim Jong Il or whatever the heck his name is, offer the olive branch of friendship and NK will beat their swords into ploughshares.

I for one would put North Korea back on the US “Terrorist Nation” list, and freeze them in Macao or wherever they have it stashed these days. (Essentially undoing Bush, Condi Rice and Chris Hill’s six party type works or art).... That would rattle them but good. That would be for starters. ZERO doesnt have the balls. As much as McCain disgusts me, I tend to think he might well have done that if he were Prez right now. This current sap in there is going to get us in all kinds of trouble.

Point of construction doesn't matter if the country who built it says, "We had a device stolen, we didn't use it against you!". The American people are so stupid sometimes I don't trust them to take such evidence as credible and I especially don't trust leaders such as Bozo the Frickin' clown president, who is even now talking about "talking with" N Korea, to act on such evidence.
I am all for bombing them now and wiping out their capability to make war on anyone.

I am all for bombing them now and wiping out their capability to make war on anyone. Sure. Our grandchildren will wonder this same thing. "Why didn't you stop them before they got these weapons? Why did millions have to die, when this was all so preventable?"
I'm sure our current moralistic hand-wringing will appear quaint in retrospect. But for now, we're in the minority. Hope and change are in the majority.

“Not exactly. He chose war. Congress backed him. “
So you think war on North Korea and China was a better alternative?

...but they did in fact use the same tunnel as three years ago under Bush/Rice's appeasement. They saw their hardline-ism worked under Bush unchallenged, they will doubly increase their efforts under this sap, Obama, IMHO. Thanks for pointing this out. We can blast 0bambi and his extremely weak response to what could prove to be an extremely significant escalation in NK's weaponry, but his response so far is about the same as President Bush's response back in 2006.
To: GoforBroke
From the article
“Their nuclear program does not have military aims - their only aim is to frighten the U.S. and receive more humanitarian aid as a result,” said Sergeyev, 24.
And I would add, to prove the viability of the weapons to their customers.
Whats the chance that the bomb wasn't theirs, but was a test of some acquired items from the old soviet or current Pakistani arsenals just to prove their viability? They might have several for sale and have been paid to prove them as still good. The price for the remaining ones would then go through the roof.

I only deal in Asian Realities.
Not in standing up for or covering for clearly failed Republican presidents who hand off travesty to even worse Democrats.

You are free to draw your own conclusions. I have an over ten year record here on FR. Read my postings, (particularly in 2003) you will learn my thinking in rather clear terms.

There is an interesting looking site only about 3.5 km south of the coordinates indicated by seismometry. It has several structures, and is isolated up against the mountains, at the end of a long road coming in from the west -- and it also appears to have power line ROW(s) coming into it.
Could this be the NK's latest nuke test site?

"depth was 0.0? Does that mean they did it on or very near the surface?" With teleseismology, it is not easy to discriminate depths of less than a kilometer...
Air sampling should very soon reveal if it was shallow and/or "vented" to atmosphere. My bet is that it did vent, (the NKGooks aren't sophisticated enough to contain it) and air-sampling aircraft will soon detect it and provide samples for analysis.

We’ve talked before so my question was really rhetorical.
My point being hindsight is 20/20. President Bush owns a good part of the responsibility. Congress also owns quite a bit since they’ve done nothing but pursue their own personal power politics.

"Because of bad decisions made by the previous administration and eight years of failed policies, I now have another mess on my hands. I have enough on my plate without this situation, but now is not the time to argue the past, even though there were a lot of bad decisions that created this mess for my incoming administration, and it will force us to spend more money, even before we do what it takes to reform the health care system and cut deficits in half in ten years..." Good lord, are you one of the platitude generators for TOTUS? :-)

June 20th is the deadline for Joe's
prediction!"Mark my words," the Democratic vice presidential nominee warned at the second of his two Seattle fundraisers Sunday. "It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don't remember anything else I said. Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy."
...and Obama's "KUMBAYAH" foreign policies are going to experience
EPIC FAIL!!!
