Cornyn: Leave Sotomayor alone

Republican leaders entered 2009 concerned that their party would, in the context of an immigration debate, allow itself to be defined by voices who would alienate Hispanic voters; some strategists have discussed the need for other Republicans to publicly rebuke those figures, and to signal that Hispanics are more than welcome in the party.
The Sotomayor nomination is providing an unexpected early test of how willing GOP leaders are to attack fellow partisans on behalf of their Hispanic constituents, and Senator John Cornyn appears pretty willing:
"I think it's terrible. This is not the kind of tone that any of us want to set when it comes to performing our constitutional responsibilities of advice and consent," Cornyn told NPR's "All Things Considered" of the attack on Sotomayor as "racist."
"Neither one of these men are elected Republican officials," he said of Gingrich and Limbaugh. "I just don't think it's appropriate and I certainly don't endorse it. I think it's wrong."

RINO John Cornyn-R TX, is taking sides these days, always the wrong sides. He endorsed super-RINO turncoat Arlen Specter's Republican re-election campain 2 weeks before he became a Democrat. Cornyn has endorses Obama-lovefest RINO Crist-R FL for a Senate seat. This time he attacks conservative patriots Gingrich and Limbaugh. NPR is a great place for Cornyn to find his voice and endorse Santomayor. John Cornyn and his Powell-esque attitudes are becoming an embarasement to true TEXANS!

I really want to believe that those comments were taken out of context. Otherwise, the senator out of central casting can suck it.

I thought that once upon a time Cornyn was a real conservative?
When did this change, or was my perception wrong?

Cornyn told NPR's "All Things Considered" of the attack on Sotomayor as "racist." Sounds to me like John wants to be more than a Specter spectator.

doesnt any of these RINO @$$hole politicians, remember the attempted Borking of Clarence Thomas????Precisely. When Liberals attack minorities who hold conservative values, the charge of 'racism' is never brought up. But when Conservatives attack minorities who hold liberal (lack of) values, the only response is 'racism.'

This is a law and order issue, Sen. Cornyn.
It has nothing to do with race. Hispanic folk are just like the rest of us. Stop acting like a deer in the headlights, you fool!!

....when reading stories about someone's response to a question and the question is not included in the story, I usually pass on it. Does your neighbor know you beat your wife?. My answer to something like this is...”I'm not sure what you mean, but one thing I am sure of, is my neighbor thinks your an a&&hole”

Hispanics are more than welcome in the GOP.
Race-baiting Socialist Gun-grabbers are NOT.
What is with these f-ing people? Why is it ALWAYS about “race” (Hispanic isn’t even a race, it’s an ethnicity) with some people?

GoPM to Cornyn:
HELL NO!
The Left declared WAR on this country decades ago under Woodrow Wilson.
They have brigades of special-interest groups that they use as their human shields.
I will destroy anything in our path to defend America.
Sotomayor is a RACIST and a SEXIST and a COMMUNIST. She is incompetent and has had her decisions OVERTURNED too many times to sit on the USSC.
FIGHT HER. DUMP HER. DO NOT GIVE THE DEMOCOMMIE PARTY THIS WIN WITHOUT A HARD FIGHT!!

Cornyn has to depend on a growing number of Hispanic votes to continue being re-elected, therefore he’s selling out early.
Nothing more and nothing less.

The funny thing is, my former MBA classmates try like hell not to be pigeonholed in "ethnic marketing," as it is a career dead end. Unfortunately, that rule does NOT apply to government, where leaning on one's ethnicity seems to help.
