States making the “rich pay their fair share?” Dream on greedy Liberals “the rich” are running
The Collins Report ^ | May 29, 2009 | Kevin "Coach" Collins

Liberals around the country are learning some hard lessons. They assumed the “rich” would roll over “grin and bear it” and pay higher and higher taxes. They were wrong.

A New York billionaire has moved to Florida to escape being “soaked.” Almost certainly others will follow him to other low tax states.

A third of Maryland’s millionaires have run away depriving its sticky fingered liberals of over $ 100 million.

Liberals are like a little child who sees a ten dollar bill in her mother’s bag and can’t understand why or how Mommy can say “We don’t have any money.”

“But Mommy I see your money” comes to the child’s mind and the liberal’s mind. Liberals believe all money belongs to government and by extension to them.

This “if I see your money it’s mine” approach is being picked up by states across the country. Several have passed “get the rich to pay up” laws. They are in for a rude surprise.

Heavy truck sales in New Jersey: greedy liberals get a big surprise

In 1990 the Liberal Democrat Governor of New Jersey played the role of the child seeing and demanding her parents’ money and his state’s truck dealers paid dearly for it.

Heavy truck sales had been exempt from taxes. He saw a chance to close a budget gap by bringing the tax back. Halfway through the first year of the tax, heavy truck sales in New Jersey literally ended. Sales had plummeted from 702 to 12! The exemption was quickly reinstated.

People didn’t stop buying heavy trucks they stopped buying them in New Jersey, much to the delight of other states.

Liberals cry about balancing budgets “on the backs of the poor.” Now they’ll have to because the “evil” rich are running away from their confiscatory clutches.

Maybe the liberals will finally have to actually cut spending, but that's not likely. They'll lay off cops since most of their voters don't like the police anyway.

They’ll end up crushing the middle class, IMHO.

It’s not just individuals. It applies to businesses, too. Money is leaving the high-tax states, and money is leaving the high-tax United States. But liberals will not reduce spending to match revenue. Instead, we have California’s budget disaster on the state level, and the seeds of the same on the national level thanks to President Spend-O-Rama.

“rich” = anybody that makes a dollar more than you.

The “rich” do NOT bury their money in the back yard!

They use their money to buy goods and services.
They invest it so that it’s available for lending our for home loans and other loans.
They use their money TO EXPAND THEIR BUSINESS AND CREATE MORE JOBS!!!

BO and the state are STEALING THIS MONEY to buy power and control, to ensure more people are dependent upon the government for their well being!

But the lib voters will never understand this cause-and-effect phenom.

Hence the importance to Leftists to give the federal government the comprehensive control of the states: move all power and taxation to the feds (which in turn doles out a fraction to the states, instead of the reverse as intended), and nobody can move to another state to escape it.

A friend is adamantly observing that the term “American” has long been pushed by Leftists for exactly this reason: to psychologically adjust people to the idea of the nation being the whole under a federal government, instead of people supporting the relative soveriegnty of their own state.

Those of us in the middle class can move too.

Many of the rich I know, and I don’t mean super rich, just people who have a few million, are buying gold and investing in much safer and tax free means. They know anything they invest might be lost right now or taxed to oblivion later by the Communists. Either way, they don’t feel safe putting their money into public investments.

Wall Street Journal did an article about this, and conceded that many of these "disappearing millionaires" aren't actually moving out of the high-tax states. They have vacation homes in FL, etc. and are just shifting their legal residence to their vacation home. Meanwhile they continue to live and work in the high-tax state.

In other words, it's Tax Evasion 101 - nothing to see here, move along.
