A new Associated Press-GfK poll suggested that Americans have a more positive view of her than they did of any of former President George W. Bush's nominees to the high court. Half backed her confirmation.

I am more concerned about her statement regarding the court making policy (instead of following the law)

I read the whole article and never saw where the Latina Woman countered anything? What’d I miss?

60% of Ms. La Raza's cases are appealed and OVERTURNED...She is not fit to be a judge with this record...
No affirmative action for the supreme court.

But Reid...sidestepped questions about her past decisions, telling reporters that he's never read any of the hundreds she's written during her 17 years as a federal judge. And, he added, "if I'm fortunate before we end this, I won't have to read one of them."

This shows the power of the MSM. They’ve been in the bag for her from the start.

Gee there’s a shock. The pressholes portrayed all Bush nominees as stupid, racists or Nazis. Obama could nominate a confessed pedophile and the NY TImes would run a puff piece saying how well the guy relates to children.

An AP poll!? Yup, that will convince me that Sotomayor is a saint. (sarc/)
To: Blue Turtle
The only way to stop picks like her is to elect conservatives to the US Senate. She’ll be confirmed easily.

60% of Ms. La Raza's cases are appealed and OVERTURNED... 60% sounds like a very impressive stat. I thought the same thing......... WOW.
Then I saw it was 3 out of 5 have been overturned, then I was not as impressed. How oes her number compare to others?

And, he added, "if I'm fortunate before we end this, I won't have to read one of them." so, the republicans want time to read her many decisions from the bench, and Reid, Dem leader of the Senate, has the audacity to state, we need to get thru this fast so I don't have to read any of what she wrote. I dare not type my true feelings about Reid's thought process, but we can now clearly see why it was not important for him to read the $878 billion bailout bill before signing off on it, either.

Her New York City upbringing worries me, not her Latino roots! Why?
BTW, up in the Big Apple she'd be known as a PR or Puerto Rican, not a Latina.

I guess we will get another liar in our government.
It’s too bad respect has left; but these people do not deserve it.

50% is really bad. One would do anything possible to be in her court if she is over turned this much...
There are research firms that calculate stats on judges. Trial lawyers know everything about the judge that is on their cases AND they try to get lamos like Soto so they can appeal.

She ruled that criticizing her was not an individual right granted by the constitution, but rather hate speech subject to state sanction.
End of problem.

Thanks for your answer. I had a NYC upbringing too but I was the daughter and wife of cops and I was always around firearms.

Yep, there is nothing there.
