un.freaking.believable -- this, in an Obama-incentivized bankruptcy.
Obama is kissing the asses of the UAW and the Chinese.
He's very pragmatic, this president.

USA! USA! We will defeat China by letting them wallow in small penis syndrome.
"Rugged SUVs?" LOL. More like minivans with lift kits.

I keep thinking of that movie “Gung Ho” with Michael Keaton.
Yeah it may save a few jobs.. for NOW.
I don’t see too many people rushing out to buy Hummers anyway - why would they have sold the division otherwise? Especially now, for many reasons!
This wasn’t thought out with American’s interests in mind, but what can you expect from Chamberlain v2.0.

note: I have no problem with the Chinese buying Hummer; I have a big problem with the forced sale and what has to be a ridiculously low price.
It's nice to see the Chinese sending some money back, but not at fire sale rates. They've won.

General Motors Corp. has a tentative agreement to sell its Hummer brand to Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Co. of China"You likee hummer GI?"

good points I hadn't considered....
GM Suit #1: How the hell are we gonna get rid of Hummer?
GM Suit #2: I know! We'll get the Chinese to buy it!

At least we know there are leakers in the Obama camp since half his camp is ex “journalists” anyway.

er -— Yes, it is (was) not there’s I don’t know how many generations (3? 4?) of civilian versions.. they have a breather tube - they can be driven through deep water without bogging out.. but most civilians I know with them barely dare to drive them in rain.

I think that you are right. The new 2016 CAFE standards will kill the Hummer in the US. The Chinese just flushed $500 million down the toilet unless they dismantle the plant and rebuild it in China.

Ha! That’s nothing compared to the number of times the Pravda article about the demise of capitalism has been posted.

Isnt Hummer a military vehicle?A dumbed-down one these days, I trust. Nonetheless, probably cutting edge in China.
To: ProtectOurFreedom
Well, then there’s that......
I must FReep too much. I’m of the mind that there are actually only five news stories on any given day.
The rest are just duplicates.
I read FR first and THEN check Fox, Drudge......

...most civilians I know with them barely dare to drive them in rain. I've only ever seen one (civilian) H2 that was set up for serious off-roading, and looked like it had been used for off roading. The rest don't get any further off road than the Burger King parking lot.
The question is, the US Military still uses a lot of 'em... What, now? Will the US Army be buying replacements and spares from the Chinese? Great, all the GIs will have lead poisoning within a year if the Chinese's record with kids toys is any indication...
