I think a 25% tax on employer provided health care would be the thing that would make my liberal friends angry, finally. That would hit most of them in the pocketbook (and most of them, while liberal, will not take kindly to THEIR income being slashed). At least that’s what I predict.

That might be true, but are they adult enough to admit that they have been had?
I'll wager they blame George W. Bush for it.

So far all he's done is spend, so naturally the liberals are happy. Now the second shoe's going to drop... taxes to pay for the spending. They won't like that part.

Many will say that this tax would not be needed if we had national socialist healthcare, and that until we have such a thing, we must get more in taxes to pay for "all those uninsured people who don't have healthcare" (don't you think they would have died off by now?)

25% tax is about $250 a month on people receiving a family plan benefit at employer cost of about $1,000 per month
Is this a ploy to get employers to drop health care benefits and force the employees to look to the government?

The strategy is to make private, employer furnished health insurance so expensive that everyone will flock to the USG option. Business supports national health care.

They will never know they are being taxed. The MSM will lie saying that this is a payback for Bush’s out of control spending.
And the sheeple will eat it up.
