An 89-year-old white supremacist who has long ranted against Jews started a firefight inside Washington's somber and well-secured Holocaust Museum on Wednesday afternoon.
The gunman, James Von Brunn, shot and critically wounded a guard and was then shot by museum guards, law enforcement officials said.
Von Brunn, whose Web site is full of anti-government and anti-Semitic rants, was sentenced to 11 years in prison for carrying guns into the Federal Reserve in 1981....

I don’t think “they” pegged him as a white supremacist. Sounds like that’s just what he IS.
He opens fire in a huge museum filled with tourists in the nation’s capital. He has a criminal past and is openly anti-semitic. That’s news. And it’s just fact, not “pegging.”
I hate it that it’s scary these days to go to a popular public place without looking over your shoulder for the unhinged.
a conspiracy theorist could make a great case that Rahm identified a couple of ‘crazies’ and set in motion a series of events to incite von Brunn and Roeder to act on their respective obsessions in order to give him cause to sic the Attorney General and Homeland Security on law-abiding citizens. ‘Never let a good crisis go to waste’?
This guy isn’t a right-winger, he’s a hater of Christians and Jews, is a journalism major and former film-producer.
