'Iranian attack on Israel will NOT be seen as attack on US'
Jerusalem News Wire ^ | June 12, 2009 | Stan Goodenough

One year after declaring - as a presidential candidate - that an Iranian attack on Israel would be regarded as an attack on the US, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton earlier this week revealed that this was certainly not the policy of the Obama administration.

While the Iranians could expect 'retaliation,' America was not committing itself to come to Israel's defense.

....Before playing a video recording in which Clinton emphatically states: "I would make it clear to the Iranians that an attack on Israel would incur massive retaliation from the United States," Stephanopoulos told her that this "was your position during the campaign."

"Is it US policy now," he asked.... Clinton, um'd and ah'd.

"I think it is US policy to the extent that we have alliances and understandings with a number of nations," she said, then added, "I don't think there is any doubt in anyone's mind that, were Israel to suffer a nuclear attack by Iran, there would be retaliation."

Stephanopoulos pressed her: "By the United States?"

But she would not commit. "Well, I think there would be retaliation," she said

I suppose.

I wasn’t trying to pick a fight with anyone, and certainly not you. It’s just my observation that God saves us rarely, if ever.

If something bad happens, it’s to strengthen us or teach us a lesson, and if something good happens, it His reward.

One can put that spin on every event in your life, but it sounds like spin to me.

I think Israel would be well-advised to put its faith in F-16s, Patriot and Arrow Missile batteries, and its own nuclear aresenal.

But Iran has some ducks to put in order first. So don’t expect it this month.

A nice foreign war is always a way for tyrants to get folks to "rally 'round the flag". It even worked for Joe Stalin, although he didn't initiate the war, except through nearly fatal stupidity.

At this point, if Iran wants to have nuclear weapons I think Israel should just give them a couple.

With special free delivery. Limited time offer.

So when I see something like this, I have to ask myself, what’s in it for Obama? What will he benefit from the destruction if Israel? These guys don’t take a crap without thinking through the ramifications. Of course I am not counting Biden in that group...but the Clintons and Obama ARE included.

Is it about cheap oil? The general instability of the area?

I mean really, what would happen if Tel Aviv were nuked. It would not kill all of the Israelis. Certainly there would be a blood bath among the warring states.

In the end, when the dust settles....where does that leave the collective “us”?

Did you have throse drills in your classroom? Run out into the hall, face the wall, drop to your knees, hands over head. Safe from THE bomb....not

My school had a tunnel and basements in both buildings that the tunnel connected. There was room for everyone in those places, the littlest kids got the tunnel. Absent a very near miss, we'd have survived. A near miss of the SAC base about 6 miles away might have killed us all though. It was also good for tornadoes, which were more likely.

“This administration doesn’t take the Lord at his word.”

They don’t believe in the Lord.

I don’t think Iran will ever have a chance to bomd Israel, not because of the the aid from the USA or any other country, but because of Jesus Christ...He will stop them with a snap of Power that this world will see in a instance....

GOD Bless Israel.....

Israel is protected by Israel, and up until this administration, by the USA. Its citiznes had better prepare to take care of themselves, because there’s no guarantee that God will

Respectfully, you’re wrong about what God will & will not do for Israel. As things play out, it will become obvious that no other explanation will work.

Did God protect Israel from Nebuchadnezzer? From the Romans?

How about the slavery in Egypt?

In geometry three points plots a line. In baseball, it’s three strikes and you’re out.

If it’s true that God helps those who help themselves, Israel better get busy helping itself.

Those judgments you mention were in response to Israel’s national sins.

Israel just wants to be left alone now. It is not a national sin simply to EXIST.
