Plus, she couldn’t just say it quietly in your presence? And she is your CONSULTANT? off with her head/ figuratively of course.

I concur. I would wait about 5 days, then I would terminate the contract without giving a reason. I would refuse to provide substantive feedback to the fired consultant, and I would work backchannels with other businesses to reduce the volume of new work this consultant obtains.
