But also not amused are flight attendents. Were they offended by Letterman's slur? "Yes and I'm speaking as a MALE flight attendant here," said Ken Kyle, president of the 1,200-member Denver chapter of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA United Airlines. "We've fought the TV stereotype for so many years, and quite honestly, it's objectionable when you put it in light of (flight attendants' heroic actions during) 9/11 and more recently, the professionalism of the US Airways attendants during the emergency landing on the Hudson River."
Jokes and sexual innuendos take a long-term toll, said Kyle."They desensitize the public to the very important safety role we fill. Sure, we are sensitive to any comment we believe demeans a job we feel is important, especially the safety aspect of it." They also hit attendants in the pocket book, he said. "We face a lot of pressures from the public and from the corporate level -- and to minimize and devalue (our) job classification makes it much more difficult for us to fight for a pay raise." People don't think about that, in part because attendants do their jobs so well. "But I bet if you asked the passengers on the Hudson River flight, they would have voted to give attendants a raise."

Jusr as nasty as Letterman!
I did not start this attact on any freeper I am talking about what happen to Palin and the kind of being Letterman is and you two are taking an opportuinity vent you recentmenet towards a freeper who is Mormon instead of keeping your contempt on the Religion Thread!
Did you read post #101? Why have you brought religion into this thread? I said nothing uncivil to you. I did not attack you. In post #92, I suggested an alternative to the word "abuse." What is your problem?
I'm of the same opinion. To the best of my knowledge, she has not said or done anything stupid or nasty in the Palin saga. I do feel sorry for her, she had to have a child by Letterman in order for him to actually find enough character in his conscience to marry her by the time his son is old enough to start asking, "Daddy, what's a bastard?"
There's a lot of judgement by looks on this forum that is thinly veiled sexism here at FR, and I hope we learn to rise above it some day.
Amen! Some posters (I think they are male, but one can never be sure) don’t understand that there are some things a gentleman does not do. Among other things real gentleman don’t make fun of a woman’s appearance nor do they ask their age. OK .. to be fair, the appearance thing does NOT apply to Helen Thomas. But then again, she shoots her mouth of so much that she’s fair game as well — and that applies to any woman who uses their persona or chosen profession for political purposes.
I would like to think that fellow conservatives are ladies and gentlemen. I think it distinguishes us from libtards, or at the very least it should.
No; what I'm saying is that WE shouldn't be 'bullies'.
John 1:9-10
9. The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.
10. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.
John 17:15
My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.
High road indeed!
Palin called him on his ACTIONS and WORDS and did NOT sink to calling him names.
(The EVIDENCE has done that!)

Careful, you may be the next to go.
By doing the same thing he does, you've lost any grounds to complain.
Talk to your hand.
I know I must have touched a nerve a few days ago that is why you are following me even on the A/N forum.
There are hundreds of Post on the RF towards me daily from you ELSIE today there was none over there so you tract me over here!
I guess these things can be an addiction or one needs for a fix when one person is always in their sights!
You follow me Elsie not the other way around!
that Mother Teresa quote was originally towards those who pound daily on another faith endless days of fault finding.
What I said about Letterman is my observation and toll he has taken on his wife is in no was met to be unkind to his wife but to drawn attention to past and present before when she met him and how he affects people with his unkind words as you Elsie have spread endless unkind words to the LDS as well when opportunity to appears out of the blue to malign individuals when they post on the A/N forum.
Babalu
I apologized for trying to make my point about Letterman behavior and in the course has come across to being thoughtless to his wife which was not my intention.
My grandfather and two of my brothers were/are R.N.s. One of my brothers is now a Nurse Practitioner. He is very well respected by his peers. Initially working at the USCMC (Los Angeles County General) Pediatric Center, he was the one they would call from all over the hospital to start IVs on the smallest of infants. They’re a very hard start, having to find and hit their veins.
The nursing profession is a great field to work in. The pay is way above average and you can go just about anywhere and find work.
It’s also very rewarding.
My sister-in-law, my step mother, and my grandmother were also R.N.s. My niece is preparing to go into nursing herself.
Nursing is a great first step, if you can’t afford to pay a steep tuition to begin with. After you’ve gotten your R.N. license, you can work a few shifts per week and support yourself if you wish to go back to college to get another degree.
gee.... I've made THOUSANDS of jokes over the years... some of them ARE in bad taste...is this one... OK, ya got me.... But I would never knowingly make fun of Dave's spouse... I was making fun of the guy in the photo standing next to Dave everytime they mention his wife.
Now am I "sorry" that Dave might be offended? Well maybe..... Maybe Dave can come on this thread for an interview and just swap a back and forth with us.... it's free.
Wow, now I sound just like a libtard teleprompter reading "comic" that is married to a horse.... he better be careful taking his son past bath houses in New York , since there's a lot of them there... you know the rest of Dave's punchline...
Isn't that just f'ing hilarious . Didn't think so.
So Garyb... you turn the other cheek. I'm through playing nice with libs.
Here ya go...
“Because male nurses in the Air Force or the Marines, or the Navy or Army are, what? Unusual?, bad ass mo/fcks?”
My point being that most are manly men, that like girls, and yes, some could beat the crap out of some smart ass who assumes male nurses are gay.
“HAhahah and wait til you have a male nurse you just made fun of put a Foley cath in you. Then you will see who has the last laugh.”
I wasn’t making fun of male nurses.
I have never noticed them to be above average as ass kickers, in my experience they would generally be below average in that area sometimes embarrassingly so.
Man, I would love to be sitting a few isles back on Dave’s next flight.
The only slutty looking flight attendant I've ever seen was....a gay male!
