Needs to be announced....AMERICA DIED TONIGHT...June 26, 2009

No, because it won't work. It won't do anything but drive us deeper into recession and increase job loss. It will increase homelessness. It will increase inflation.

We are going to have some pain, but the nation needs a slap in the face anyway and this is gonna be a big slap.

We are individually not going to be able to afford this political payoff bill during a recession with high unemployment. The "poor and minorities" will feel it most of all. Fixed income people are going to get raped by it.

When they screw up American healthcare these people will be screwed even worse.

America didn't die tonight....but liberal utopianism just set itself on course for the destruction of its credibility.

We will be California in a few years if not sooner. America will suffer great pain, but will learn a lesson and be better for it in a couple of decades.

We have to consider the possibility that these districts were in favor of this bill. Let’s be honest. If their districts were as opposed as everyone on here, they would have voted NO

I hope so too. However, I well remember CFR and how there were promises up and down the chain that it was dead, but here it is. I will not believe Cap And Tax is dead until it’s officially 6 feet under, stake thru the heart, with it’s head removed and stuffed with garlic. The Democrats have the opportunity to destroy this country, we put them in position to do so, and they will stop at nothing to get it done.

I knew it.

Mark Kirk of Illinois is a closet Democrat. He voted against ANWR, and a slew of other Dem projects. And here he is supporting this POS. If the people of Illinois don't call this phony out, he'll end up as their next governor.

Trust me, if any of them actually read the blasted thing, they certainly did NOT read the 300+ page amendment that was delivered after 3:00 a.m. this morning. Who do they think they are kidding?

And they wonder why the Republican Party is dying in the Northeast. It’s because the Republicans vote like Democrats.

I don't understand. These “representatives” aren't voting on behalf of the wishes of the American people, they vote on behalf of special interests. Why can't important issues like this come up for a general vote? I am sick of them voting to line their pockets and increase their power.

Or, you could just repost profmike23’s list from post#68 on this thread. He wins the prize for first to find the names.

Yes, I just saw that at an earlier post. There were about 25 posts when I went looking for the vote results. In the couple minutes it took to locate the roll call vote (we have a slow computer), nearly 100 posts were made, one or more including the names.

Thanks.

I am not a businessman. I don’t want the headaches with it. I am happy to be a simple productive worker, but even I know that if my employer’s overhead increases, he might be able to ride through it without increasing prices if it is temporary like the $4/gal gas last summer. However, if his energy bills DOUBLE (and my company has about 80 vehicles that drive 50,000+ miles per vehicle per year), then my employer MUST increase the price of his product or go out of business. If you are manufacturing something and barely beating the Chinese, doubling your power bill will probably destroy that tiny edge you have.

While we’re clobbering the Republicans who voted for it, don’t forget the Blue Dog Democrats who voted for it.
