CA GOP Chairman Nehring Q&A coming soon--LAST CALL for FReeper Questions!
6/29/09 | self

Posted on 06/29/2009 7:51:58 PM PDT by The Spirit Of Allegiance

It's confirmed that CA GOP Chairman Ron Nehring will receive a list of questions from me and provide answers I can publish on FreeRepublic.

I've asked that he also come online and answer follow-up questions but that has not been confirmed.

I plan to group the questions as much as possible by the classic three components of Conservatism. Based on some crucial questions raised, I plan three additional question categories for a total of six, not listed here in any priority:

1. Social/Moral Conservatism
2. Fiscal Conservatism
3. Sovereignty/Nationalism
4. Candidates, Primary & General Elections & Party Leadership
5. Constitutional Imperatives
6. Miscellaneous

Is there anything not asked on the previous thread (linked below) that should be included? Are there any major categories beyond #1-5 that warrant their own grouping (instead of as "miscellaneous")?

As mentioned in the first thread, my goal is to make this a template for all 50 states and the RNC itself. Anyone needing help getting the process moving with their own state GOP, FReepmail me.

Thanks for your input.

I stand ready to teach the GOP leadership how to beat the left on their own ground.

Thanks for doing this! I'm not a Californian, but it's fair to say that, given the state's size, what goes on in California affects the rest of the country, both economically and politically.

I'd be interested in hearing the California GOP's stance on energy regulation. It's my understanding that California has long been hostile to the construction of new power plants. Not only are new coal power plants essentially forbidden in California, but there have even been news stories lately of licensing of some new solar plants being held up by, get this, environmental concerns!

This of course affects the rest of the country as well as California, because if California fails to produce enough electricity to fuel its own population growth, it must necessarily take that electricity from the western U.S. power grid. Energy is mainly a fungible commodity, and an increase in demand for electricity in California without a commensurate increase in supply will necessarily increase prices for all of us.

Thanks. As to the other question in your ping, the NC GOP has a new chairman, and he's been refreshingly active in talking to the media here in North Carolina. He might be receptive to an interview here. My NC GOP contacts aren't what they used to be, so if any other NC Freepers think they can swing it, I think it'd be a great idea.

It would be awesome, if the same thing can also seriously be done with each and every state GOP chairperson, prior to the November ‘10 elections.

Well...perhaps the”New GOP” will..

self-impose term limits...
eschew ALL K St. lobbying.
maintain that all their Federal candidates and lawmakers maintain their PRIMARY offices in their district....DC can make do with electronic communication...
describe mandated de-regulatory and de-tax postition their candidatesmust adhere to to obtain party funding...

Ron conducted a Leadership Institute workshop I attended several years ago. Sharp guy with good grasp on the fundamentals of political organization.
