Palin to make announcement from Wasilla at 3 [will not seek re-election]
Politico ^ | July 3, 2009 | Ben Smith

Posted on 07/03/2009 11:40:27 AM PDT by Al B.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will make what her office is only calling an "announcement" at 11 AM local (3 Eastern) from her home in Wasilla.

Speculation is raging both in Alaska and in the Lower 48 that she'll reveal her plans regarding next year's gubernatorial race.

So much for today being a slow news day.

Todd says: She’s going to concentrate on doing the things for Alaska and the country she can’t concentrate on as Governor.

My interpretation: She’s running for 2012.

You are saying that having their support is a prerequisite to becoming POTUS?

Not quite. But we know the so called Independents, other fence-sitters, and very young voters who often tip elections are by nature pliable and having the institution of our free press and heavily influential entertainment industry for or against a given candidate constitutes an unfair advantage for the favored candidate. We can't pretend they do know wield real power in elections.

Head fake? She “resigns because of the scurrilous attacks against her family.” The Left, unable to resist its vicious nature, keeps attacking her. So, she’s set up for a big comeback—”I have to do this, not only to defend my family, but to defend America.” (he said, hoping this is a crazy-like-a-fox move . . .)

It's a great scenario.

Sounds like from the Todd Palin comments Palin is running for higher office or participating on a national level in some way.

If that’s the case she’s going to have to learn to ignore jackasses like David Letterman and Chris Matthews and concentrate on attacking the policies (and people) of the left that got us into this mess....and explain how she’s going to get us out of it. That will be a winning strategy.

Greta saying not to underestimate her and taking up for her on FOX. “I get flooded with emails every time somebody gets on television and criticizes her.”

Absolutely not. If she wants to be Senator AFTER she concludes two terms as President, that’s fine.

Chopping Letterman at the knees was good strategy with women. Many women are jealous of her and also hate her pro-life stance. Sarah as the mother lion gets women behind her. Hopefully a few converts anyway.

Against Lisa Murkowski in 2010, a RINO, but this would be the wrong course of action now.

I doubt she changed many minds by doing that. It isn’t presidnetial to get into a mud fight with a goofy comedian. She needs to leave that to her minions and go after the big game.

I said it after Sanford’s weird implosion and I’ll say it again now - I sense some are seeing the writing on the wall and choosing to “Go Galt.” I’m even more convinced now. And now I’m even more in fear for my country.

How about a link before we get to excited over her resigning.

Not gloating over this at all. I have always been a Palin supporter.

You obviously don’t hang out on women’s forums and forget they vote. They like feisty mothers that do not pretend to be above it all.
