I like Palin, but why step down in 3 weeks?

I do not underestimate her .. I also couldn’t
blame her for refusing to have to be slammed
with the constant vilification that she and her
family must endure every day, and opting out of
politics .. maybe just for awhile, maybe for longer.
I agree.
She has lowered unemployment in Alaska while it runs wild under Obama.
WHY would she quit?
This isn’t normal, nor evidence that she is more serious about running for president in 2012.
I agree. I’d say odds are, regardless of what ambiguous statements she makes today, she is finished in politics.

I don’t know. I assume either some bad personal issue (either health or personal/family scandal) or the Republican Party has wisely arranged to escort her offstage by arranging a cushy job for her where she can’t cause trouble by dangling herself as a possible POTUS candidate. I hope it’s the latter. Though I think she was and would be a disaster in any Presidential campaign, it’s really not her fault that she was stuck into a position she was utterly unqualified to handle, and they owe her a comfy job for their big mistake.

Phone interview with brother on Fox News now, suggests she’s doing it because of media attacks, and defending herself from ethics complaints.
The ONLY thing that makes sense at the moment is that she is removing herself to take targets away from Obama, thereby focusing matters on Obama.

her .. but that she needs him even more than

bureaus and defend conservatism across the

Whatever is up, whoever is orchestrating it doesn’t want people focusing on the resignation aspect. Makes all the sense in the world to do the announcement on the Friday afternoon before July 4 (and the stock markets are closed today, so it’s basically a holiday). Few people watching the news, even fewer paying more than brief attention, news outlets running with reduced staffing . . .
