She sounds rattled in the video clip.

Something’s up!

I just heard.

Not running for reelection is on thing, stepping down is another.

She is done with politics. It’s over if this is true.

Health problems or family problems that would get in the way of her ability to perform her duties is about the only acceptable excuse or reason for what she is doing.

It's not normal..guys.

Sounds like from the Todd Palin comments Palin is running for higher office or participating on a national level in some way.

Why would he need to be a control freak? He might be urgently concerned about the effect all this hoopla is having on their children, and convinced that putting a stop to the harm to them should be the number one priority.

If she goes dark for a while, the media will be so short on targets that they may have to start looking at the Offal (oval?) Office.

You may be onto something there. As Governor, she was a sitting duck for their malevolent microscope. But liberated out on the road, availing herself of the opportunities to carefully reintroduce herself again directly to voters face-to-face across the country by day & studiously bury herself in policy wonkery by night, she really could reinvent her national image.

Heh-heh. Peggy Noonan & David Frum: Be afraid, kids, be very afraid!

The more I think about it, if she wanted to run for Sen. in 2010, she could do that and remain Governor.

This probably means something really bad. Either someone is seriously ill in her family, she is ill her self, or their is a big skeleton about to fall out of her closet.

I will give her the benefit of the doubt though. Maybe she has just had it in and is calling it quits to be with her family and save what money they have from going to defend herself from frivolous ethics charges.

Greta on Fox right now: says she doesn’t know whether Palin will run in 2012, but pointed out that Palin recently signed SarahPAC documents and “do not underestimate Palin.”

Her poll numbers in Alaska have dropped into the 50's likely because she's had to deal with the mountain of national news.

If she continues as Gov. this would probably continue. She may think she cannot serve Alaska well if she's going for the national scene.

If true, why didn’t he put his foot down last summer?

Maybe he tried, but she just refused to go along with it, and he wasn't ready to give an ultimatum yet. It's not something that should be done lightly, but there's a point at which it's the right move for a parent who's seriously concerned about ongoing harm to their children.

I'm not claiming this is what happened, but I think it's certainly among the plausible possibilities. If it's what really happened, obviously there will never be any confirmation and we'll be given some cover story.

I’ve often wondered why she didn’t walk away from it all. Even with a thick skin what she’s endured at the hands of the left hurts and no mother likes to see her children under such a negative microscope.

Trouncing Obama is a full time job.

You can't stop at just trouncing Obama. You have to trounce everything that put him in place, including the entire culture that empowered him.
You have to trounce the alphabet media who constantly portray his likeness with glowing, heavenly backgrounds and halos not unlike images of Jesus.
You have to trounce other forms of media like pop-culture entertainment who convince young people its 'cool' to be a gay, transtesticle, metro, vegan, lefty, socialist, heathen and 'bad' to be a heterosexual Christian.
You have to trounce the PC Police, the Racism Police, the Bigotry Police and the Baby Killers.
You have to trounce the guilty white sheep who dare not stand up from what they believe for fear of being labeled the latest hyphenated -phobe word and make decisions take actions that are against their core belief in an effort to prove they are 'enlightened'.
After that Obama really has nothing else of substance to carry him.

That would make this a dark day for conservatism in America.
