Israeli Warships Make Rare Suez Canal Crossing
AFP ^ | July 14, 2009

Two Israeli navy ships made a rare crossing of Egypt's Suez Canal Tuesday, headed from the Mediterranean to the Red Sea in the latest of "unusual" navy drills spotted in Suez over the past month, a port source told AFP.

One of the ships, the Hanit, already crossed the canal both ways in June, in what the source said was the first case of a large Israeli warship using the strategic waterway, although this was not possible to confirm officially.

“The country is such a bunch of bone-idle bums. . .” Well said! I was on a US Navy warship that was training Saudi sailors. We were tying up at a pier (a pretty critical phase of ship handling) and all the Saudis handling lines just stopped and dropped them in water!!! After the screaming and yelling stopped it was determined that it was prayer time and they were done!!! If I wouldn’t have seen it with my own eyes I wouldn’t have believed it.

:’) But obviously their economic stagnation is due to Jewish settlements.

Sau3di Shi3a have never declared independence regardless of Iran’s wishful thinking. Their riots are brutally crushed & people are arrested there for the slightest subversion. The military (really various “departments” each headed by & loyal to a different prince) has a backbone of tribal bedouin who are brave but useless outside of raid scenarios. Many can’t even swim or be bothered to show up for any kind of training. But they are excellent at putting down Shi3a demonstrations & beat their skulls in with the greatest pleasure. What the Shi3a do is work (but they are barred from important positions). The others don’t like work, the more of a tribal background they have, the more adverse they are to working.

[also, my source]

[G]asoline, some recent price hikes notwithstanding... adjusted for inflation... was the lowest gasoline price, ever... [I]n 1970, we imported 22.7 per cent of our crude oil. Now we import 59 per cent, and almost a third comes from the Middle East... U.S. oil consumption went from more than 20 million barrels a day in August 2001 to about 18.8 million a day in January 2002... But the best thing we have going for us at the gas pump is the no-account, bone-idle, useless bums sitting on 65 per cent of the world’s oil... [T]he total nonpetrochemical exports of the Arab world do not equal Finland’s.
